All the fun of May!....in Late August!

So Im back-tracking.  Ya see, I have this running list of events and fun things to post here on the 'ol blog.  And that list starts back in May with Mother's Day and Whitney's VPK graduation, and runs through June and swim lessons and golf camp and then July with Uncle Jay's visit, Aunt Gerry's visit, some Disney Frozen fun, and of course, here we are now in August, and I need to post about the kids' first day of school and the excitement of the upcoming college football season.
So...in an effort to remember all the fun we got into this past Summer, I am going to start with the May pics and work my way towards this week's cuteness....These pics are from my computer so they might be from the real camera or my phone.  I have over 1700 pics in my phone right now....and they are DYING to jump onto the blog....so I need to catch up before the holidays are upon us! 

So...I bring you "May...in August"

One night I dropped Eric at the train station just north of our town, and he and the kids rode the new train to the train station in our town.  This was super exciting for everyone involved :) 

I didnt plan the matchy stripes, but how cute are they!?

Also in May, we all went to see Rio 2 in the movie theater.  It was Grady's second movie theater experience and he was less-than-engaged in the movie, however we went to see Planes 2 about a month ago and he sat through 90% of the movie and was diggin' the popcorn :) 

Some rogue pics of Uncle Jay's April visit that I dont think I posted previously.  The reddi whip tradition must be documented :) 

We had a great visit for the kids' birthday, and another awesome visit later in the Summer! 

LOVE the giggles.  Looking at this pic reminds me of how stinking cute these kids were when we were trying to take a pre-bedtime selfie.  They were both saying, "Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese" and cracking up :) 

This girl lost her second tooth in May, and has since lost two more.  AND she has a top tooth about to drop! 

Whitney had been saying for a LONG time that she wanted to grow her hair "as long as Rapunzel's!"  So when she and I were in the pool together and I randomly said, "Let's cut your hair for the Summer...", and she said, "OKAY!", i knew I needed to act fast.  I ran inside, grabbed the scissors, and got to work....

She instantly looked way older and we vowed to never cut her hair again lol Its cute, but she has plenty of years to look older.....I want to keep her as young as I can for as long as I can!

I had a GREAT mother's day this year!  The kids' schools each made it special with adorable crafts and questionnaires, and  got to spend the day in the pool with my kids and the best husband ever.  What more could I ask for?!

I spent a lot of pool time with this sweet girl this summer while Grady was at school or napping.  Im gonna miss these days. 

We wrapped up Whitney's first (and likely last) soccer experience in May! Her bestie, Faith slept over the night before and then cheered Whitney on in her last game.  

Whitney was very excited to get her first trophy!!!

And, we didnt know it at the time, but her coach's daughter and her teammate, Lexie ended up being in Whitney's Kindergarten class!

More pool days after soccer! :)

And we headed to church on Mother's Day with the two cutest kids I know :) 

The following week, Grady finally got a hair cut.  And it was officially the worst hair cut EVER.  

Hack job.
I let it grow after that.  I literally JUST got it cut this week.  It took me THAT long to get over the trauma of this awful haircut.  Sigh.  

Eric took a business trip, so FaceTime was our friend :) 

And I always love when they lay together and smile.  The best.

I got a very rare mommy date day with my bestie :) Danielle and I headed to the springs and people watched and laughed and it was great medicine for this tired mama :) 

This kid.  He knows the monitor in his room somehow leads to his mommy.  

And he blows kisses to me.  

Because apparently I didnt learn my "keep the hair long" lesson from cutting Whitney's hair, I decided to make a drastic change to my own hair.  And suddenly I felt bald.  

So it is currently in the painful process of bring grown out.  Again.  

And because I wasnt scarred enough by the short length change, I decided to go darker later in the Summer....Oh...Lawd.

Back to May, this girl and I shared a lego date after school one day.  LOVE her :) 

She's so fun to laugh with and, even though I KNOW her, its fun to get inside her little head and hear her thoughts on things and life.  She's so insightful and such a deep thinker, and I sometimes forget that she's ONLY five years old.  She is seriously the best little girl I could ever imagine and I truly thank God every single day that *I* get to be her mommy.  The best gift ever.

And I can NOT believe this hasnt made it to the blog yet, but that beautiful girl graduated from Preschool in May!  

She and Jackson were fast friends last year in VPK, and I love his mama.  We are already planning the wedding, y'all.  LOVE them. 

Aunt DeeDeeDee and Papa and Ms. Martha, and Mac and Gramps came to the graduation to celebrate our sweet girl.  How blessed are we!?

And before I know it, it will be THIS kid's turn to graduate!

And just to make sure Sissy knew who was boss on the last day of school, Grady put her in her place.

The best. 

And when we got home from school on her last day, I rounded the corner and heard her crying.  I peeked into her room and saw this.  She was crying and telling Grady that she was sad for preschool to end, and Grady walked over to her and hugged her.  I love these kids. 

And because we celebrate big life events in the best way we know how, we headed to Magic Kingdom to celebrate this sleepy girl's last day of preschool.  We dropped Grady off with Mac and Gramps, and had our girl to ourselves!

We were excited to see these ladies in the new parade :) 

And while nothing can top the "Celebrate a Dream Come True" parade, the new effects are pretty fun. 

Whitney gave me whiplash drove on the go karts for the first time.  Never.  Again.  It was...fun!

And then, because Whitney has amazing luck and big blessings, we got to ride the not-yet-opened Snow White and Seven Dwarfs' Mine Train!!!! 

We LOVED it!

And of course, Daddy made us dizzy on the teacups :) 

Whitney used her allowance to buy an Elsa Barbie, and Im not sure who loves this doll more...Whitney or Grady! He has such a crush on her! lol 

We kicked off Summer with a pool day for Memorial Day, and Mac and Gramps joined us!! It was such a treat to have them to our house for a change! 

Mac made Frogmore Stew and we all dug in and drank up and laughed and made great memories! I wouldve been sad if this didnt make the blog because it was such a fun day! 

It was so nice to have Tuesday and Thursday mornings with this girl all summer.  We hit the library and had playdates and even had fun going to our usual grocery shopping trips together! 

While this dude continued to thrive and do awesome at his school! 

A few more pool days with friends to round out the month of May.....

....and we were ready to bring on June! 

Im determined to get June and July and August blogged before September starts....in three days....
