Ok, its SORT OF starting to sink in....

We had our 12 week ultrasound this morning and I think its officially starting to sink in that there is a baby growing inside my belly.  I havent gained any weight and my clothes all fit the same (or better!) and aside from feeling sleepy a lot, I have been feeling fairly "normal" lately.  Yesterday was the first day I was gaggy/pukey throughout the day and unable to find relief in any foods.  Until then I had been able to down some cheetos or a salad or a banana and get over the nausea.  All of those foods made me sick yesterday, but I finally found relief at 9pm with a bowl of cucumbers, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and Italian dressing. That hit the spot and I was able to sleep well.

Ive also had some pretty severe, sharp pains the last two days.  I know they are called "round ligament pains", but they are SHARP, shooting, and decently painful, but I was happy to have some more proof that this baby is growing and in it for the long haul. :)

The ultrasound tech this morning said that I "scan well" and that she could see everything she needed to see and more because the placenta was nicely formed and placed high, and because of the way baby was laying.  She was extremely nice and very thorough, taking the time to point out all the parts and explain what she was looking for specifically.

Baby's nose bone is present and perfect, as we would hope since that is a marker for Downs and other genetic issues.  His/her spine is looking great, and the shape/length of the neck is 1.5 which is "perfect".  The tech said we are both "textbook healthy" so far, and explained why she thinks baby is a BOY.  I definitely see what she is pointing to, and I do believe she is probably right, but Im not about to buy any blue just yet, as Ive heard sooo many stories of 12 week "BOY" ultrasounds turning into 16 week "GIRL" ultrasounds since the girl parts and boy parts are surprisingly similar at this stage in development.  Again, I do think she's probably right in guessing boy, but I am not about to paint a bedroom blue yet :)

The doc was super nice and, although he doesnt think I will need any further medications beyond the daily aspirin, I was thrilled when he asked if we wanted to come back in four weeks. I am not technically "high risk", but I think he liked our story and everyone there loved Whitney, so he offered another ultrasound in four weeks since my regular OB likely wouldnt do one at his office. :)
So we go back in November for another scan and a better gender prediction, and then again at 20 weeks in mid-December for a more detailed, specific ultrasound.  Then I will be released from the high risk group and just have regular appointments at our OB.

And onto the good stuff:

So now that Ive seen this baby moving and shaking in there, I am sort of starting to feel pregnant.  I dont know that I will REALLY feel pregnant until I have a giant belly or until my clothes dont fit right, but this morning definitely made it seem a little more realistic.

Now...if anyone knows any user-friendly baby name websites, send me a message! I havent found a boys name I LOOOVE yet, and none of the websites Ive searched are very fun or helpful :)  (A girl's name is already decided...and a secret.... :) )
