A Fun Weekend

The weather has been extra warm and comfy lately, so Whitney and I took advantage of the sunshine and headed to the park one day last week! She LOVES this park and has started calling it "My Pawwty Pawk!" (Party park) since this is where her birthday parties have been held in the past.  She waves to her Party Park every time we go to Mac and Gramps' house, and she is already talking about her birthday party there this April! She can do pretty much all the jungle gym equipment at the park now, and believes "the higher, the better" when it comes to slides and swinging :)
My Dad was home Thursday morning, so Whitney was SUPER excited when she spotted him walking through to park to see her! LOVE that we live close enough to have drop-in visits with grandparents. I never had that growing up, and while I had an amaaazing childhood, I think it wouldve been cool to see my grandparents more often, so I love that our kids will grow up with real bonds and relationships with their grandparents.

Whitney said "Im jusss hangin' out, Mom." She is getting soooo grown up! I can hardly call her a "toddler" anymore! She is ALL big kid!

She recently started asking me to put her hair in "juss one BIG pony tail...in da back..." and I think she looks ADORABLE! Yes, she looks five years old, but still cute :) She was posing in front of my childhood bookshelf that I painted red to coordinate with Grady's room :)

Friday marked the three year anniversary of the very first time Eric and I ever "met" Whitney.  Technically, T was still pregnant with her, but we went to dinner with T and L for the first time three years ago, and we like to say that was the first time we were ever in the same room with the baby who would become our Whitney. We were happy when my parents were able to join us for a nice dinner to celebrate :)

Outside the restaurant, there was a giant tree with those icicle lights that look like long icicles that drop "shooting stars" from the tree. Hard to explain, but the pic shows the dangling lights.  Mac took Whitney outside while we settled the bill, and pointed out the tree.  Whitney said "Dose are fireworks on dat twee!" and as they walked closer, she said, "No! I have an idea! I fink dat is a PIXIE DUST TWEE!!' My mom said Whitney ran to the tree and said "See, Mac?! I caught some pixie dust fwom da Pixie Dust twee!"
She has such an awesome imagination, and couldnt wait to show us her discovery when we walked out of the restaurant :)

Hard to believe I am almost exactly as far along as T was when we "met" Whitney for the first time! What a difference a few years make!

She is seriously the HAPPIEST kid we know!

I know I have mentioned Eric's cousin's sewing talents here before, and Ive likely shown these dresses here or on FB recently, but I have been too afraid to monogram them myself, for fear that I would ruin the fabulous sewing job Devin made for our princess! I finally sucked up the fear and monogrammed the purple and pink dresses today...and I LOOOVE them! LOVE!

They are EXACTLY what I was picturing and what I wanted :) I have a package of fabric in the mail to Devin tomorrow morning, in hopes of more cute dresses and some matching shorts for the little guy :)  THANKS AGAIN, DEVIN!!

The pics dont do it justice...this dress could've come off a boutique rack at some fancy shop. SOOO awesome! And the monogram is more prominent in real life :)

While I was sewing, Eric was teaching Whitney how to ride her bike! She likes the bike she got for Christmas, but has struggled with pushing the pedals forward.  She tends to jam them backwards and stop herself abruptly. Eric grabbed this tricycle from a rack in the garage and thought she might like it better. Sure enough, the hand-me-down was just what she needed and she is now on old pro, whipping up and down the streets like she's known how to ride forever!

She also steers her power-wheel nicely without crashing into the sidewalks or trash cans now :) And apparently thinks its awesome to ride standing up. Oooh, the things she is planning to teach her little bro...(and i dont even wanna think about all the "fun" things he is going to show all of us!)

We rotated a bunch of toys out of the playroom lately, and Eric was in the attic shouting down "You should see it up here....ridiculous." I handed him the camera so I could 'see for myself."  Sure enough, thanks to family and friends who generously pass down/loan/etc us their kid's well-loved toys, our attic looks like Toys R Us threw up inside.  Jumperoo, exersaucer, walkers, ball poppers, etc. It was fun to see the pics (this is only half of the attic) and remember when Whitney was using each of these toys, and knowing our Grady will be using them all again soon enough!

And speaking of Grady...Eric has been working hard to get his room painted and DONE! The navy and white look awesome and I cant wait to see the red and navy stripe on the white part sometime next weekend!

And Ive realized that this child has far more burp cloths than he could ever use. I havent bought any new bibs or burp cloths...just been having fun covering up/personalizing Whitney's old, used stuff. So far, these are my favorites. :)

And after seeing a sweet picture of a newborn sleeping with his butt up in the air, I knew this sweet onesie needed something more:
 ..not just his name....
...but a cute lil booty!

We have a pretty low-key week planned ahead. Just routine school, playdates with some favorites, some sewing, and some laundry. Fun times :) I am still feeling great, though I suspect the third trimester exhaustion is right around the corner, as I took a 2+ hour nap on the couch today.  I am assuming I passed my glucose test last Monday, as no one as called to tell me I couldnt handle the sugar. So far this pregnancy has been drama-free and super fun! Still loving the kicks and realllllly cant wait to have him here!!
