Phone Dump

One of my favorite friends in the world met us at Disney for some impromptu Magic Kingdom fun a few weekends ago.  Whitney is always so happy to see "Aunt Jet", and Eric was super excited when she taught him all the right targets to zap on the Buzz Lightyear ride, helping him earn a 999,999 :)

And I was super grateful to have my sweet friend watch Grady while I got to ride the teacups with my girl and the hubs :) She sent me this pic of Grady's reaction to their people-watching :)

And not one of my shining motherhood moments......let's just say yall should avoid the Astro Orbiter if you have an infant with you. yikes. 

Speaking of BUZZ....we are getting ready for Halloween around here, and I have been studying this picture in my phone for weeks:

After a few Pinterest ideas and some creative thoughts of my own, Whitney and I got to work on her Jessie costume.  It took far less time than I expected and cost a fraction of the Disney prices! And, lets be honest, I LOVE that I can say I made it myself :) I know she wont let me have too much input on her costumes in the years ahead, so Im thrilled with her Jessie choice this year :)

Lots of coffee.  Lots of patience.  Lots and lots of "Mommy, what's that? What are you doing with that? Why do you have to do that?" and a few hours......

And we have a decent Jessie costume she can wear in the 90 degree Florida Halloween weather, and to school at the end of the month!

And one VERY HAPPY little girl :) 

This dude looks pretty spiffy in his skeleton jammies, but he is planning to be Buzz Lightyear :) 

When I realized we would really be raising two children, one of the first silly thoughts was "MATCHING CHRISTMAS JAMMIES!!!" I know.  Im a nerd.  And I couldnt wait til Christmas.  When these jammies jumped out at me at Walmart, I knew my kids had to rock them :)

Im so happy to get a THIRD year out of Whitney's candy corn dress from my friend Mandy.  I could never count the number of compliments we've received through the years. Thanks again, Mandy!

Side note: faux hawk = cuteness

This dude is struggling with some teeth.  He is happy and totally fine 95% of the time.  The other 5% of the time, he is a combination of drooling, whining, gnawing, more drooling, more gnawing, skipping naps, avoiding baby food, and falling asleep on me. Its just a phase, and he really is pretty tough, but I dont see any teeth popping through anytime in the near future.  

"So tell me more about these 'teeth' things.....they are going to pop THROUGH my gums!?"

"This is serious."

"You promise extra cuddles, Mommy?"

"Then I think I can handle it."

When not holding a needy, napless baby last week, I was sorting through piles and bins and boxes of baby clothes! It was so fun to remember Whitney in all those outfits, but it was time for them to go.  I have the memories and TONS of pictures, so it was time to make room in the attic.  

Im also excited to have the kids' bathroom completed! One Fish, Two Fish just makes sense for BASS kids, right?!

The saying came from Etsy, the polka dots were from Target a few years ago.  The fish are from the teacher section at Joann's. And I FINALLY found the shower curtain on Ebay.

The frames are from Amazon and were a great shower gift from a bestie.  And I made the towels using a font from a fabulous friend who makes personalized ANYTHING. I love how it all came together!

Evidence of the teething situation:

Even when the pain is too much, he smiles with the tears :) 

He lunged for my coffee cup the other night.  Two things: I drink iced coffee, so no worries about burns. And yes, I was drinking coffee at 6pm. As I saw on Pinterest: "Its 7am somewhere!"

Grady went to town on my iced coffee!

He was licking and sucking and gnawing on it :)

Coffee is getting us both through this painful period :) 

Last week, he took extra naps and was ALL over his crib in his sleep.  This week? Opposite. He is completely anti-nap.  He slept for 17 minutes yesterday and 12 minutes today.  He isnt taking as many ounces, and he is completely avoiding baby food.  Hes happy...but this mama misses naps!

How cute is he in this hand-me-down from his cousin Corbyn!? He LOVES it and can really move it! It stays at my mom's house since their whole house is tile and easy for him to navigate, but I might snag it for our house soon since he loves it so much and it gives him some mobility.

We went to my parents for dinner one night last week when Eric was on a business trip to Chicago.  Grady is in looooove with my dad and its so fun to watch them together.  Not too much longer and they'll be tossing a baseball or chipping onto the green together!

We recently invested in a video baby monitor.  We didnt really need one with Whitney because she was a good sleeper/napper and didnt roll around in her crib much until she was really mobile.  Grady is all over his crib and I have been getting up 3-4 times a night jsut to go peek on him to see if he is wedged in a corner or stuck somewhere.  The first night, I knew I was hooked.  I STARED at him on the monitor....

And the next morning, I woke up and watched this:

And since then.....nada.  The dude wont nap, so the monitor is pointless during the day! LOL

I do a lot of this:

Hold the sweet baby while he naps for 12 minutes as I keep a close eye on his sheets on the video monitor.

Sigh.
