I am soo pissed. I will likely delete this post after typing it, but I am hoping it will be cathartic to get this OUT.
Yeah, well, yall remember how Mr. Bass wants a truck, right? Well trucks aint cheap.
Wanna know another thing that aint cheap?? His brother's wedding!!!! His bro is getting married next week and it is costing us a FORTUNE.
*wedding and shower gifts = $200
*tux rental = $100
*hotel room = $169 for one night
*bridal shower at our home = $250 plus improvements made to home...yes, they would have been done evewntually, but I am including them in the costs for the shower since they would have sat on our To-Do-List forEVER otherwise
*bachelor party weekend (including 4 rounds of golf and 2 nights at a hotel, plus food and DRINKS = $400
Well....after discussing my dress options for the wedding, I decided I would need new. I mean, I was the only one freaking out about how much money we were spending on this wedding, so I figured it was cool. Besides, the man wants to buya TRUCK....SURELY his wife can go get prettied-up for his brother's wedding!! right?? WRONG.
I came home with two GORGEOUS dresses today....one for the rehearsal ($119) and one for the rception ($125). They are GORGEOUS, fit me PERFECTLY, need NO alterations, and are definitely wearable again at other events.
I was just told "I thought you were going to buy something on SALE?"
Ummm....helllo!???????? Last I heard, you were buying a TRUCK!!!!!!! I think I can buy me some dresses!!!!!!!!!!! the funny part is...we NEVER argue about money. That is likely because I dont know how much (or how little) we have at most times. But, last week he tells me he has an "extra" $4000....and now I need to start tightening the 'ol wallet?? What the??
OK,...i have decided to leave this up here for one day...24 hours....just to see how it feels
I really do love the man,.....but seriously. I bring home a nice paycheck, too.

Kat: keep those dresses. u deserve to get all dolled up and seriously how often can you find not only one but two dresses that fit you perfectly. it rarely happens.. hope he quits being a butt soon :D

It's so hard when communication seems to be non-existent...I really hope you two are able to talk things out soon and he is okay with you keeping the dresses!! If you can afford it, why not? Enjoy a splurge....try on the dresses, show him how hot you look and I'm sure he'll cave ;)

I am a total stranger...and usually don't look at strangers blogs...but I was trying to find this book I heard about on the radio, "How Tough Women make it through Tough Times."...and your blog came up in he search! I read your most recent entry and then another!...I am TOTALLY relating to how much OTHER peoples weddings cost! My brother was married in May and my sister is getting married next month...all I can say is that I wish weddings were tax deductable! :)
