Ummm, call me crazy (many of you have already anyway)...but am I the only one who is mad about this chick?
Mom sues after IVF brings 2 babies instead of 1
Australian woman seeks $332,000 to cover cost of raising extra child

CANBERRA, Australia - An Australian woman who gave birth to twins instead of a single baby after receiving in-vitro fertilization has sued her doctor for the cost of bringing up the second child.
The woman, who cannot be identified because of a court order, is seeking more than 400,000 Australian dollars (US $332,000) to cover the expense of raising one child until age 21.
Testifying in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory on Tuesday, the 40-year-old mother said she told her doctor, Robert Armellin, that she only wanted one child. But an embryologist under the doctor's supervision implanted two embryos in her uterus, resulting in the birth of non-identical twin girls.
The woman told the court that she and her partner were devastated when they learned she was carrying twins, and had even considered putting one of the babies up for adoption.
She said that while she enjoyed some aspects of her pregnancy, such as decorating the girls' nursery, other parts were distressing, including purchasing a stroller, or pram.
"It was like the last frontier of acceptance to spend hundreds of dollars on a pram," she said.
The couple, whose combined income exceeds A$100,000 (US $82,875), are seeking A$398,000 (US $329,000) to cover the costs of raising one of the girls, including private school fees. They also want around A$15,000 (US $12,427) to compensate them for time off work and medical expenses.
Having been thrugh several invasive fertility treatments, I know for a fact that the doctors make the patients and the patient's spouse sign copious amounts of paperwork to ensure that they will not be sued. Eric and I had to sign a document stating how many embryos were placed in my uterus and the quality/grade of said embryos. The document stated all of the risks of multiple births, etc and we had to sign it, agreeing that we were made aware of the risk of multiples given the number of embryos we transfered. It makes me mad that this woman expects her doctor to pay for the second child, whom she obviously feels was a mistake. Now, i know that this case will likely be thrown out (or would be if it was in the USA), but it still bugs me that this woman gets to be a mommy to two beautiful, healthy little girls. I say, take them BOTH away from her if she is that ingrateful!
There were soooo many things I was going to write about today.....the UF student who got himself tasered (he deserved it)....... the student who reminded me a little bit too much of myself as a 12 year old girl (i dont know HOW my mom didnt kick me out, send me to some foreign country, or just plain slap my face)....the fact that I am sick today (i hate sinus issues)......the argument I got in with some chick on a mommy website (two things to say about that one: "To whom much is given, much is expected" - Luke 12:48,...and "money doesnt buy you class" - Kathleen Bass, 9/19/07) and I even considered writing about parenting styles, (but I know I am not an authority on that one yet, so I figured that blog can wait.) But this lady really bugged me and I couldnt let it go.

I agree with you Kat. . and you KNOW how much I love both your bible verse AND your personal quotation :)
I'd love to hear your parenting thoughts too. . .
Luv you!
That's unbelievable!! I don't even know what to say! I just hope that mom changes her tune, how horrible for one of those girls to grow up feeling like a "mistake" because mom only wanted one....
Yes, Kat, this story PISSED ME OFF!! And I'm not one to actually write that I'm pissed off, especially in caps. How dare she be so ungrateful!! Okay, sorry, vent over :)
