Another Phone Dump and some Family Time!

Im back with a phone dump since my phone has been overloaded with cuteness lately :)
There are some "real camera" pics, too, but I bet you cant tell which ones are from my phone and which ones are from our real camera, so Im not convinced that I need to keep dragging the real camera out.  :)

Its been so fun trying to figure out who Grady looks like. We changed our minds every day for a while, but now we are changing our minds every hour! It is safe to say that Grady is a great mixture of both his Mommy and his Daddy. :) He makes some faces that are ALL Eric, and a lot of his pictures look a lot like my brother, me, my mom, my mom's mom, and that side of the family.  How cute was Eric!?
And here I am in all my chunkiness :)
Regardless of who he looks like, he is stinkin' CUTE  and Im not ashamed to shout it :)  He is alllll smiles now, very easy-going and laid-back and an excellent completion of our family.

He wakes up happy. Goes to bed happy. And is happy in-between. He rarely cries at all, and when he does its an obvious fix.  SOOOO much better than those first several weeks of guessing games!

He is such a butterball and so strong. He loves to stand on our laps and talk to us. Still no desire to roll over, but I sorta like that he might not be in such a hurry to crawl, walk, and run away since he's our baby and this is the last time we get to enjoy these fun stages of life.

He is finding his voice more and more each day, getting louder and louder, and its SOOO cute. We get into long "conversations" of babble and spit and shrieks that start out with laughs and head tosses and inevitably end with him rubbing his head on my chest or into my neck, exhausted and ready for a snooze. Learning is tiring!

His hair seems to be growing like weeds! Every time I get him from his crib from a nap or in the morning, his hair seems sooo much longer! Obviously its still stubby little spikes of hair, but its funny to see it thicken up. I looove that it has a red tint to it and really hope it will get redder as it grows!

He still loves bath time and cracks me up in this pic.
"Turn off the water and someone is gonna get hurt. Let's just make bath time an hour tonight, kay? kay. thanks."

Hes been testing out the exersaucer and seems to be enjoying it.  We bought a jumperoo from our neighbors yesterday and I cant wait for him to try it out.

I looove sleeping baby pictures :) He was such a light sleeper at first, so I dont have as many sleeping pics as I had of Whitney at this age, but Im starting to get brave enough to vacuum in his room during his nap and sneak pics. He is finally a binky kid now, and I love that he rubs his blankie on his face to fall asleep.  I know its scary to see a baby with a blanket near their face, but I assure you he is fine :)

I post soooo many pics of Grady on face/book lately, and I feel like people must think I ignore Whitney all day. She is a moving target and Grady is a sitting duck...the sitting duck is an easy pic to take :)
I promise Whitney is still as cute and fun as ever, but she is tough to get a pic of lately.  She loves to say "cheeeeeeese" but doesnt want to stop long enough to actually look AT the camera.  Three is such a tricky age to navigate :)
When big sister stops playing long enough to interact with her brother, I want time to stop so I can just soak it all up and breathe it all in and let them play and "talk" and smile at each other forever.

She has been such a rock star with this whole "new baby" thing.  She never skipped a beat, has been really patient, and is just head over heels in love with this little guy.

He pulled her hair for the first time yesterday. She thought it was absolutely hilarious! Her belly laughs are the BEST on the planet, and she loved that Grady grabbed her hair.  Of course I didnt tell her that it was a complete fluke because she was convinced that he pulled her hair because he loves her. :) I know. Cute, right?

We had some nasty weather from Tropical Storm Debby, so a lot of time was spent indoors last week.  On top of Debby's weather, Whitney's weekly gymnastics and ballet classes were cancelled, so we had to get creative.  Pinterest, surprisingly, was little help since a lot of the things I pinned to do with Whitney required two hands and a lot of time, so having Grady on the scene made things tricky.  That's okay though, as Whitney is open to making up new games now :)
She and I tossed a ball and played catch, and then she wanted to do a puzzle...so we combined the two :)

She was holding up letters from her alphabet puzzle (best $.50 garage sale find ever!) and telling me words that start with that letter..

"'M'...like, MmmmMAC!!"

Then she would run over to the other side of the room and catch the ball three times because she's three years old, and then go put another letter on the puzzle. She made it up herself and it was so fun to see her get excited about learning and playing!

She is so proud of herself :)

Cutest piggies ever!!!  *and yes, she stayed in jammies all day. So did I. It works for us :)

We were VERY excited to head north for our niece and nephew's birthday party last weekend! Callie turned 2 and Corbyn turned 4 and my awesome Sister-in-law, Lynzie, threw a GREAT Pirates and Princesses party, so we had to get into character :)

The party was a success and all the kids had so much fun! After the party was my favorite part though....we sat around catching up with Eric's brothers and sisters and family and it was a lot of fun! Christina and Sawyer flew in from Texas for the big event, and it was SO great to catch up and get to know Sawyer better.  He is THE happiest baby! ALLL smiles, all day :)

The Birthday Family :)

I made Whitney's pirate shirt for pirate week at school earlier this year, and while I wanted to make a tee for Grady, time got away from me and I wasnt able to make it happen.  He still looked cute in his store-bought pirate attire though :)

We were missing our two oldest nephews, Kyle and Dean, but they were off having fun on their first official Mission trips! Kyle will be spending the entire Summer in Montana building houses on a reservation, and Dean spent a week on the coast of Florida building trusses for another local project.  We are so proud of them and cant wait to hear about their adventures, but we definitely missed them at the family gathering. Its just not the same without Kyle and Dean!

How funny are the littlest cousins?! LOVE them :) And doesnt Whitney totally look like a biological part of the family??! So funny.

Me and My Kids...(plural....kidssss....more than one.....still bizarre)

Eric, me, Grady, Joe, Lynzie, Crystal, Daniel, Sawyer, Christina, and Dawson...missing Jake and Parker :(

Grandma Beverly (Robin's mom) loved getting her snuggles in with the littlest members of the Corgan/Bass families :)

And here is a prime example of Grady lookin 100% like a Bass Boy with his Proud Papa :)

And again with Daddy added....no denying who he belongs to :)

And Whitney was thrilled to have the attention of her Uncle Parker and Uncle Dawson :) She LOVES them!

Thanks for another AWESOME party and family pow-wow, Lynz! We love you!

Whitney and a few other guests decided to have fun in the pouring rain. Tropical Storm Debby wasnt going to ruin her parade! She was completely drenched when she came inside, but declared the day a huge success :)

Whitney and I used to chat in bed when I was pregnant, usually talking about Halloween costumes for her and Grady.  Its been 10 weeks since Grady arrived and we are just now getting back to our nightly ritual.  Im not sure who likes it more. :) I get a chance to have Whitney all to myself, and Whitney gets me as a captive audience to discuss anything her little heart desires :)

Halloween costumes are surprisingly still a favorite topic, but we also talk about how to be a good friend and things that make her happy/sad/angry/etc.  Some nights I lay in bed with her for 10 minutes and other nights is much longer....but the time is priceless.

We went to a birthday party for Whitney's BFF's big brother, Austin.  Whitney looooves Austin and Faith, and we remember when Austin was born 8 years ago.  Seems like yesterday we were crowded in Dallas' hospital room waiting to lay eyes on him for the first time :)
The girls had fun running and playing on the playground :)

It was a football birthday party, so of course the Basses had to dress the part :)

LOVE these girls :)

We stopped by my parents' house after church on Sunday to pick up some last minute items before we all head to the beach this week.  My parents rented an awesome condo on the beach and we are lucky enough to get to tag along for more than a week! My parents will obviously be there, but my brother is flying in to join us from Boston next week, and at the end of next week, my very favorite bestie, Mandy is joining us with her family.  ALL of my favorite people will be in one condo at the same time! Woohoo!

I constantly see my mom and her mom, "Gramma Mac", in Grady.  His face is shaped like theirs and he has my Gramma Mac's chin for sure.

Eric and I were very excited to wake Whitney up from her nap after church on Sunday just so we could have her all to ourselves :) Grady was taking a marathon nap and we wanted our favorite three year old princess to join us in the pool.  We had so much fun, and Whitney looooves her "swimmies" and loves that Mommy and Daddy used swimmies when we were little :)

I LOOOOVE binky smiles and Grady has been delivering, big time! He naps 95% of the time in his crib, but I just didnt want to put him down the other day, so he was falling asleep in my arms on the couch.  Apparently I was just too funny because he kept melting my heart with these adorable behind-the-binky smiles :)

He decided the show was over, and pulled his favorite lovie over his eyes again....

...and fell fast asleep :)

Yesterday, I laid him down for a normal nap at 4pm.  He slept until midnight! At about 10:30pm, I thought I was in for a LOOONG night or an EARLY morning, but nope. He woke up at midnight, took four ounces and went right back to sleep.  Then he woke up at 5am today and I made the coffee and figured he was up for the day....nope. He took four ounces, started running his eyes and yawning, and went right back to sleep til 8:30am.  I think he will be 30 lbs and 4 feet tall by Friday :)

Or maybe he was just resting up because he's heard us talking about the beach so much lately. Gotta rest up for all the fun times ahead!

I mean, really? A body like that was made for the beach!

"What is this 'beach' place yall keep talkin' about?"

"Oh! That sounds AWESOME!"

Cant wait to spend time on the beach watching Whitney build sand castles with the 67,839 new sand toys my parents bought her :)  Our favorite house/Bailey sitter is coming tomorrow (Thanks, Uncle Eddie!!) and we are headed to the beach with two cars filled with baby gear, bathing suits, and the kitchen sink....I forgot how much "stuff" a baby requires on a daily/weekly basis. Wow.
Looking forward to making memories, taking family pics, and eating yummy seafood.
But dont worry....Im not looking forward to relaxing. sigh. :)

We will have internet access while we are away (and did I mention a big, threatening house sitter?....so no crazy ideas of breakin' in our house while we are not relaxing on the beach!) and Im hoping to stay on top of the picture taking and blogging.
