Happy February!

I may be biased, but I think we have the two cutest Valentines in the world :)

We all went out to dinner Friday night and were all in bed with the lights out by 9pm.  The "quick" stomach bug that I had on Thursday took its toll on Eric, leaving him down for the count all day Saturday.

And we all know how men do with illness:
Man flu!!

And my personal favorite since Eric handled both kids (almost...sorta....a little bit) by himself while I was sick on Thursday:
Vasectomy humor!

Bwahahahahahaha!

We are all stomach-illness-free now, and just battling the runny noses that go along with the ridiculous pollen in our area right now.

Grady has become a big fan of all things trains and cars.  He can say "caaah!" like a true Bostoner and lights up like a Christmas tree when he hears the theme song to Chuggington.

He was SO excited!

I was a little unsure about "boy stuff" since Ive been raising this diva for the last 3.75 years:

but Grady keeps it exciting around here with all his trucks, trains, cars, and balls. And sometimes its easier to crash trucks or throw balls than it is to come with new storylines for princesses and peter pan :)

Last week we got our annual zoo pass! Our local zoo isnt all that amazing, but its right around the corner and  has a splash pad and playground and its something fun to do to get out of the house and meet friends.

We started with a picnic at the zoo and then visited all the animals! Both kids had a lot of fun!

Both kids really liked the playground and Im sure Grady will love it even more when he can walk :)

Whitney said she didnt want that alligator to live in our backyard :)

And aside from animals, the splash pad, and a playground, the zoo has a train ride! Whitney LOVES it!

And I LOVE seeing that kid smile!

We had a great day!

Whitney's teacher texted me this picture last week:
Oh my. This girl is a trip.

For a while I have noticed that I accidentally, subconsciously match my children.  For years, Whitney and I would show up to gym class or school wearing the same color.  Now I am noticing more and more often that I am matching or coordinating with Grady, too.
One day last month:

And me and Whitney last week:

I was very glad to learn Im not the only one who experiences this phenomenon :) Im deciding to embrace the silliness of the situation instead of rushing back to my closet to change every time :)
