So this past week has been a rough one for both Bass family pets. Eric almost made a middle-of-the-night run to Walmart for Whiskers 2.0.
But after some food filtering and fresh bottled water, it appears a replacement Whiskers isn't necessary. Yet.
Unrelated but I can't remember if I included these two pics in the last post. And I think it's sweet when they cuddle up together in their chairs, each with their blankie and a cup of milk, and watching Nemo or Monsters Inc. And I live when they take the bubbles out at Grady's gym class. It's his faaaaavorite!!!
Yesterday we went to our friends house for a play date. I couldn't resist snapping pics of the kids in their cute outfits and smiley attitudes!
I mean really?! The shoes have shark teeth and fins!!
And after a fun play date, Grady came home and crashed so Whitney and I headed poolside. We weren't outside five minutes before our poor sweet Baileydog walked right into the pool.
It wouldn't be so bad for some dogs. In fact I know some dog owners have trouble keeping their dogs out of their pools because they love the water! But our mutt has feared this pool for seven years. And he surely knows where it is located! But his poor blind eyes failed him and he took an unexpected, unwanted dip in the shallow end.
We aren't making any decisions today or tomorrow, but it is sad to recognize that our days with Bailey are limited. It's not fair to let him deteriorate to complete disorientation, and I want the kids to have only positive memories of our dogger, so is hate for his constant fear to lead to a snap or accidental injury to a child. Ugh. So tough. :(
On a happier note, through my swollen-from-crying eyes this morning, I chased this child through the kitchen as he literally climbed the walls/stove.
And earned himself a morning bath after smearing banana #2 in his hair and clothes at breakfast.
Which lead to silly hair and teeth brushing craziness :)
And tonight, after monthssssss of anticipation, we took our Monsters Inc-loving girl to see Monsters University!
We are looking forward to a weekend filled with birthday parties and family time!....and some extra cuddles for our sweet mutt.
