Busy Weekend and a First Sleepover!

We have a LOT of excitement in the weeks ahead, and Whitney has been having fun crossing off the days on her calendar as we count down to KatMandoo 2013, when one of my favorite people in the world brings her fabulous family to visit us for some Disney and beach magic!
Less than two weeks to go,....

But while we wait, we have a lot of birthdays and ballet classes and play date fun lined up! After the Friday night movie date night, we all headed to Whitney's friend Avery's 4th birthday celebration on Saturday morning. Avery's mommy went all out with an awesome pony party, and both Bass kids had a blast!

After that party, we headed home for some pool fun before I enjoyed a girls night in with Danielle while Eric and Eddie had their weekly man date :)
Last year, Grady rocked this wetsuit from my Uncle Mike and Aunt Leigh. I found it in his bathing suit drawer and couldn't resist.....

I mean really? Hahahahaha

Daddy thought it was funny, but only for a picture....not to wear in public.

                   No "butts" about it!

On Sunday we had two more birthday parties! One for our friends' son who turned nine, and another for our Aunt Cindy who was celebrating 50 fabulous years!
At Cindy's party, Grady was so worn out from the morning's swim party excitement, he launched himself into Papa's arms and wanted to go to sleep.

Alas, Aunt Carols house never disappoints, and there was a piano to be pounded!

After some brief fun with cousins poolside, we headed back to the first bday party to pick up Whitney's bestie, Faith! Why are these girls smiling ear to ear???

Because they are headed for their first sleepover!!!!! Dallas, Dave, Eric and I talked earlier in the day and decided to have Faith spend the night at our house. We figured they were both so worn out from the swimming and birthday partying, that they would likely crash hard and lower the odds of waking up in the middle of the night wanting to go home.

These two laughed and giggled and squealed and played sooooooo nicely all evening. Faith kept asking "When can we go to sleep and have our sleepover?" Lol
They both brushed teeth, said prayers, grabbed a flashlight, and got right in bed. They giggled and talked for about an hour before we noticed the laughs had quieted.

Around 2:15am, Faith woke up saying she missed her mommy. I told her there were only a few hours til daylight and asked if she wanted to sleep in the playroom with the tv on. If course they both said yes and we made a bed on the floor where they watched Tangled and continued the gigglefest.

I thought for surrrre they would pass out before Flynn Ryder even appeared on the screen, but nope. The laughs and chattered carried through the movie, and Whitney tapped me on the back as I slept in bed, saying, "Mommy. Tangled is over. Can you put another movie on for us?"

By this point, it was 4:15. I turned Disney Jr. on really softly and they were both asleep quickly.
At 7:15am, Whitney and Faith were sitting up and talking and laughing again, ready to start the day!

They ate breakfast and played some more, and they were so silly when I showed them the pics of them as babies in the pink chair....

I can't wait to see all the fun shenanigans these two get into through the years. They have such a special bond and we are all repeatedly amazed at how well they get along. Love these two!
