Here is our final profile for birthmoms to view. It is sorta scary to think that this is ALL they may have to get to "know" us at first. We are both open to meeting in person before the birth (obviously we want to attend the birth if possible), and we hope to tell her more about ourselves and our hopes and plans and faith at that time. I want to spill our hearts out tell her how this child will truly be the center of our lives, and how long we have waited to be parents, and how our desire to be parents is about the CHILD and about giving them a great life and foundation more than it is about us. I want to tell her that I will thank God for her gift everyday, and that we will raise our child to respect her decision and be grateful she made the choice she did. I want to hug her without being sappy, and I want to totally talk her into it, but I totally DONT want to talk her into it. I dont want to be pushy, but I want to tell her how much this would mean to us. For her sake, I want her to KNOW that she is making the right choice. I want her to look forward to the pictures we will provide her through the agency, but I selfishly dont want her to find us once its all said and "done". I want her to have peace with the decision to place her child for adoption. I want her to know that God chose her to bring us a baby and to make us parents.
I think I will save the heavy stuff for, say, the second time we meet....the first meeting, I guess I should stay pretty low key, huh?
Oh I just got chills thinking about all this!!
