Party Time!

Despite the sadness of the previous week, Eric and I were able to enjoy some time with family and friends this past weekend.  We hosted a "Come Back Soon" party for one of my faves, Danielle.  "Aunt DeeDeeDee" was among the first family members to visit when Whitney came home last year. She and Whitney fell in love and it has been so fun to watch their relationship grow. Whitney now runs to the door and falls into Dee's arms whenever Dee stops by. I should start following Whitney's lead when it comes to reading personalities :) She knows how to pick some good friends, and is obviously timid around others. She's a good read on characters, even at this young age, and she ADORES her some Aunt DeeDeeDee!

Unfortunately, Danielle is taking some time to move back to Tennessee to be closer to her family.  She assures us she will be back to visit often, and that she wont forget us :) So, on Saturday night, we had Eric's uncles and one of his aunts over, along with his cousins and brother and sister-in-law, and we had some drinks and ate a lot of yummy food, and laughed until our tummies hurt :)

We'll miss Danielle terribly, but know she is excited to spend time near her own family.  She has been such a huge blessng to OUR family, so I just know her family is going to love having her home again. (But she HAS to come back often....)
Someone-who-shall-remain-nameless suggested that it was "impossible" to eat 6 saltine crackers in less than one minute. This was some statement made on a television show, so it MUST be true, right? Leave it to Eric to prove the theory WRONG!

Struggling to keep all the crumbs in his mouth, so ensure he completed the dare thoroughly....

Congratulations, laughs, and pats on the back :)
Bailey had to be in the middle of the action :) The girls took the fun outside to the firepit and the laughs REALLY got started :)
Patty had is laughing soooo hard! "Pound sign! POUND sign! POUND SIGN!!!!" haha
Gonna miss this girl :(
Aunt Patty, Mandi, Me, Danielle, Aliese, and Crystal
Eric and his Uncle Eddie, assuming the relaxation position
The next day, we went to Connor's 2nd birthday party :) Whitney was excited to see one of her boyfriends :)
Love her eyelashes  :) She is looooving this Woody doll from my parents!
She looks 3 here, but I love it! She is getting more and more fun every single day!
Whitney's hair has been out of control lately.  It will look great on the changing table when I finish combing it and  putting her bow it...but as soon as she lays down for a nap or gets in her carseat, all bets are off and her hair resembles a squirrel's nest. Whitney's Aunt Christina suggested mousse...and after months of being hesitant to use real, adult products on her pretty baby hair, I finally gave it a shot as a last resort. Her hair isnt crunchy or hard like I thought it would be! It holds its curl MUCH better, and is back to her cute curly self :) THANKS AUNT TINA!!

These two are my favorite people in the whole wide world :) I loooove watching them interact, and laugh out loud at some of the conversations they have :) SOOOO funny!
Tell he she doesnt look just like him.....I dare ya. :)
Whitney had her first bounce-house experience at Connor's party. Not sure who liked it more....Whitney or DADDY!

After they went down the slide for the first time :)
It was HOT. Like, 90 degrees hot. So Daddy gave Whitney some ice in a bucket....the fun ensued.
LOL

The Birthday Family!
Happy 2nd Birthday, Connor!!!

Overall, we had a fun weekend with family and friends. Not sure if life gets much better than that :)
We got back into our routine on Monday with some time with Mac and Gramps and gym class on Tuesday. We have a halloween costume party with my parents tonight, so despite the fact that Whitney isnt gonna get to wear the costume I had my heart set on, I will post pics as soon as I can.  We are going to Disney tomorrow with Summer and the boys, and then (hopefully) relaxing on Friday before the weekend pumpkin patch, costume parade,  and trick-or-treating festivities.
When life is busy all the time, I wish it would slow down so we could spend time relaxing as a family....but as soon as things slow down to a turtle's pace, I am ready for some fun and excitement to keep us busy! Either way....busy or bored....life is great! :)
