* "Its okay. Dair is nuffing to be worried 'bout. Wight, Mommy?"
- while painting, she mixed yellow with red. I told her "dont worry, it will turn orange. so now whenever she drips paint, she says there is nothing to be worried about.
Overheard over the monitor at 7am today:
"Good mawning, Jessie! It gonna be a good day, isnt it? Uh-huuuh! Did YOU see da fireworks? I did, too! I saw wed, and gween, and puwple fireworks. Dat's my fave-wit. Puwple is just my FAVE-wit. Is dat your fave-wit, too, Jessie? I got band-aids. You got band-aids, Jessie? It didnt hurt! I didnt cwy! Awww, its okay, Jessie. It gonna be a GOOOOOD day."
We stopped by Whitneys school yesterday. I just had to drop off a form from the doctor's office, and Whitney was thrilled to see the director, Miss Martie. She told her that she goes potty on a potty and not in her panties, and that she is "so 'cited to go to school here!" When we walked up to the school, looking at the big playground, Whitney said "My teachers made dat for me, Mommy. I wuff my teachers for dat. I am gonna pway dere when I go to school." She starts in three weeks, and everyone keeps asking me if Im okay. Umm, yeah. I am the one who made the decision to send her to preschool. Of course im okay! I am excited for her to meet new friends and build friendships and learn how to be a part of a group and listen and pay attention...she's gonna love it. Its only 3 hours a few days a week, but it will be good for her AND for me! I can grocery shop or sew or clean the house or get stuff done that is difficult to get done with Whitney "helping".
We are spending a week at the beach next month, andWhitney keeps saying "Im gonna build a weally big sand castle with my Mac and Gramps! Its gonna be beautiful!!" She's very excited for the sand and the ocean! (but no sea grass!)
I KNOW there are other funny things Whitney has said lately, and I keep trying to remember them so I can write them down here. I need to get better about documenting all the funny stuff she says and does. She is HILARIOUS and so much fun! She definitely has her less-than-stellar moments, but the good days make those moments seem not-so-bad. I just have to remember that, even though she's super smart and verbal, she is still only two. There are just going to be those moments (or days!) where she wants to test her limits and see just how many buttons she can push. We'll get through with lots of laughter, tons of patience, and maybe a lil pinot grigio.

| We recently spent some time at EPCOT with my parents and a favorite princess! |
| I am still hoping Whitney will want to be Snow White for Halloween this year, but she is back to loving Toy Story, Jessie, Strawberry Shortcake, and other princesses this month. |
| She was loving the time with Daddy. |
We ran to Magic Kingdom briefly this month (too hot for long days at the parks!), and ran into waited 30 minutes for Jessie and Woody!! |
| But it was worth it since Connor got to join in the fun, too! |
| Tootsies in the pool! |
| She is LOVING swimming lately! Thanks to our next door neighbor, I have some tricks to teach Whitney how to save herself if she happens to fall in the pool. While she doesnt LOVE the practice (grab the side, back up, and let her go, telling her to "find the wall!" until she grabs the wall and pulls herself out of the water.), she is really good at holding her breath now, and I feel like she might be able to save herself if she happened to fall in. |
| We went to some Springs to celebrate Austin's 7th birthday! It was such a FUN day! We walked the boardwalk/path, saw cool fish, some manatees, and turtles, and went into the springs with a ton of family and friends! |
| That elusive Largemouth Bass! :) |
| Faith was having so much fun celebrating her big bro's birthday!! |
| The birthday boy!! |
| Some of our faves :) So glad Austin had a great birthday! |
| While Austin opened gifts, Whitney entertained herself with this bucket of melted ice and water bottles. |
| She liked splashing them back into the tub and getting her face splashed :) |
| She went in for the dunk! |
| Im sooo glad Austin liked the movies we got him! |
| We spent some time out in the front yard one evening after the sun had gone behind our house. Whitney was loving the sidewalk chalk, and out art stuck around for days and days! |
| my first attempt at french braiding W's hair. I have been braiding my own hair since high school, and Whitney was finally still enough for me to make a good effort on her hair :) |
| Waiting to see Woody and Jessie!! |
| We went to the park one morning last week. |
| These pics are out of order, but you get the idea. This is from our EPCOT trip :) |
| She loves telling Daddy to "fwim to da deep end wiff me, Daddy!" |
| A lot of these pics were taken with my cell phone. I snapped this one on the couch last week while we watched a movie on the couch together. LOVE those moments! |
| Spunky. |
| We tried water color paints last week and Whitney LOOOVED it! We had a ton of fun together! |
| Whitney, Daddy, and Bailey were feeding the ducks in the back yard :) I snapped a lot of CUUUTE pics of this on the real camera, but when I went to upload the pics, I lost a bunch. Im so bummed because they were great pics from this past weekend. We went to visit my college bestie in Jacksonville and then went to my nephew's 3rd birthday party, and then had a great time celebrating another friend's 2nd birthday at gym class. I cant believe I lost so many pics :( |
| Eric says she looks like Bonnie from Toy Story 3 in this pic :) |
| LOVE this pic |
| Whitney climbed this almost entirely by herself! |
| see? :) |
| After the park, Whitney and I headed to see GG! Whitney was excited to hit some golf balls in his living room :) |
| Corbyn's 3rd birthday party was a Buzz Lightyear/Super Hero party. I forgot that the kids were supposed to dress up as super heros or Toy story characters (fail) until the night before. I grabbed one of my old tshirts and made this silly cape. I wanted the "super" to be in a better font, but that wouldve taken an extra 5 minutes I didnt feel like spending at 10pm. It was fun to make instead of buying something off the rack, but there are MANY changes I would make next time. |
| SUPERRRRR WHITNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Annie's daughter, Elsa, and Whitney enjoying some Ipad time during our quick visit to their house. I LOOOVE that Annie and I can fall instantly back into our friendship the way we were in Clemson, as if we saw each other yesterday. Friends like that are PRICELESS!! |
| The only pic I have from Emma's fabulous birthday party. Clearly Whitney was loving the cupcakes :) |
| And this morning, Whitney was thrilled to play Sweeping Beauty in the fabulous dress up gown Miss Elsa was nice enough to hand down. These dresses arent cheap, but they are really well made, and I would pay a godzillion dollars to see that face light up so happily!! |
| This is what I found when Whitney was "napping" yesterday after her shots. |
| She's never even seen Sleeping Beauty, but she sure knows how to play PRINCESS!!! |
| LOVE this pic! |
| And we sent some postcards and mail today, and of course "Pwincess Sweeping Whitney" had to help me to the mailbox :) |
