So after our family vacation with Eric's dad's side of the family, we had one night at home before packing up the car again and heading down to Disney for a vacation with my side of the family!
This little girl was SOOO excited!
In all the years we've been going to Disney, and though Whitney has been to Disney close to 100 times and Grady has visited the magic about 30-40 times, we have never stayed in a Disney hotel as a family. I think *I* was the MOST excited! But Grady quickly spotted Nemo and friends on the linens and the wallpaper, and felt right at home.
It was too hot and the parks were too crowded to try tackling any of the rides and shows we usually visit, so we spent most of our time LOVING the pool and water slide and splash pad at Disney's Caribbean Beach resort.
THANKS, Mac and Gramps!!!!
See Gramps and Whitney on top of the water slide? SO FUN! I love that these kids got to go fishing with one Grandpa on Monday and go down water slides with another Grandpa on Thursday. How awesome is that?!
Whitney's new-found swimming skills have made these family vacations even better! She never wants to get out of the water!
And after going, going, going, Mr. Grady decided to take a long poolside snooze in his umbrella stroller :)
He slept there for over an hour.
And speaking of sleep.....
We were all hurrying to get showered, dressed, and out the door to make our reservations for the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review for dinner! We only had a 10 minute drive to the Wilderness Lodge, but both kids zonked out within seconds of getting in the car.
The both woke up from their power naps happy and ready to hoot and holler with the dinner show fun!
It was a great night of typical Disney magic! When Grady finished his dinner and just could not! sit! still! for one! more! second!, I walked him outside to check out the horse stables. He LOVED the ponies :)
We spent two nights at the hotel and loved every minute! After a second day at the pool, we went to Epcot for dinner at Japan. Grady wasnt loving the idea of sitting still (again!), so I didnt get many pictures, but Whitney practiced with chopsticks and everyone loved their meal!
When we left Japan, it was approximately 8,000 degrees out, so we got Whitney's face painted and quickly made our way back to the hotel. The next morning, we headed to Animal Kingdom where Eric and Whitney and I rode the Kali River Rapids (SOOO FUN!! SOOOO soaking wet!) while Mac and Gramps saved us some seats at the Nemo show. Grady hadnt seen it before and I think it was a success!
We all headed for home just in time for Whitney's "Meet Your Teacher" evening at school, but we couldnt stop talking about planning another quick Disney retreat since we all had so much fun! Have I mentioned how blessed we are to live so close to the magic?! Beach vacations, Disney vacations, a perfect mix of fun and excitement and relaxation, all within an hour of our front door? Love it.
Thanks again, Mom and Dad! It has been so amazing watching our kids spend time with you! Thanks for spoiling ALL of us!

Hey, you should totally check out Port Orleans Riverside. It's my favorite of the Disney hotels I've tried (and I've tried many!). They even have special princess rooms! If you stay in September, they are doing testing for magicbands... I am actually staying and already got mine... They're so cool. Glad you guys had so much fun. :)
