Nothing Exciting, but an update

So, Eric is back in Texas and I am back on the couch. :( I have a sinus infection and an ear infection. Thankfully, my back is feeling much better and almost back to normal, so I am only falling apart one piece at a time. Summer always jokes that we are made from used parts, and i am beginning to believe it!

Eric and I had a very short weekend. Saturday was spent at Holy Land Experience with his Dad's side of the family. Sunday we ran some errands and brought him back to the airport. Waaay too short. So, he is back there and I am still here. No fun. On our way to the airport on Sunday night, I couldnt help but think how different our weekend would have been if we had been chosen last week. How much harder it would have been to drop him off at the airport. How busy and emotional our weekend would have been. God must have known that I was gonna end up sick this week, and I would have been unable to cuddle and snuggle our newborn feeling like this. It all happened for a reason. :)

Bailey and I are snuggled up on the couch and he is trying his best to make me feel better. We both just want his Daddy to some home. Is it Friday yet?

I spoke with Denise yesterday. I called her to apologize for the tearful rambling I left her with on Thursday when she was only doing her job. I know that part of her job is not the fun part, and I felt bad that my tearful sobbing made her even more uncomfortable. She said she understood and that she just knew that nothing she could say was going to make me feel better, so she just tries to stay quiet and not take sobbing personally. :) She said that all the expectant mommies who are due before Nauary 1st are already matched (and are not in our realm of "wants" and requests as far as drugs, alcohol, race are concerned). She wouldnt go so far as to say that they have a LOT of activity after the first of the year, but she said she knows they are busier in January. She hasnt pulled profiles for the January birthmoms yet, but seemed to feel confident that we might see something we like in the bunch. Denise hasnt been on vacation in over a year and a half, so she is taking her much-deserved vaca starting this Friday. She assured me that, in her week-long absence, someone would be working her files and available to handle any "stork drops" or new expectant mommies. She said she can tell her stand-in exactly which drawer and which file our profile is in, in case someone needs to see it in her absence. :)

So, thats the latest. Looks like it will be a quiet end of the year, and I am sooooo okay with that! I am ready for 2009 to be OUR year :)

I think of you often and pray that your special baby comes soon. My husband was adopted at birth and I think babies who are adopted are such a gift. You are going to be a wonderful gift for a baby one day. God has that perfect one picked for you; just trust and believe and be patient...easy for me to say, huh? Just know that lots of people are following your journey and that your faith is shining through. You have lots of people praying for you:) Hang in there...Carrie
