And some of my favorite pics...
Before Whitney came along, I would escape into a good book on a regular basis. James Patterson, John Grisham, Sue Grafton, and my favorite, Sandra Brown. (I could "name-drop" here, and mention that I am friends with her daughter, but I won't. :))
Anyway, in the last 13 months since Whitney came home, I havent read ONE book that didnt end in "The End", "Amen", or "And they lived happily ever after...". Not one book with chapters. Not one book with a developed plot or complex characters. Not one book with more than approximately 15 pages. I am ashamed to admit this, as I truly LOVE BOOKS. Eric often used to laugh at me, as I would read in the car on the way to Walmart, or lay in bed til 2am reading the last few chapters of a great book. I always had good books picked for poolside, beachfront, or road trip reading. And I've even thought about writing my own children's books. The problem? Time. How in the world would I find the time to WRITE a good book, if I can't even READ someone else's good book!?
So, as Whitney's first birthday passed and I realized that it had literally been an entire YEAR since I read a "grown-up" book, I decided to dig in. I will NOT allow TWO years to pass without devouring words on a page! So this week I picked up Sandra Brown's "Ricochet", and I can NOT put it down. I would read it in the shower if the pages wouldnt get wet and fall apart. So good. Whitney apparently agrees, as she snatched my book off the end table and couldnt wait to find out "whodunit". :)
I know, honey...I could just KISS a good book, too. :) (We told her to "kiss the nice lady on the back cover!") And yes, Sandra Brown IS my "#1 Favorite author, too!"
I am blaming my lack of blog posts on the book and the one year old :) I promise to get back to posting on a regular basis again :)

Finally new pictures of Ms. Whitney! :) I am like you and I LOVE books. I am also starting to get back into reading "grown up" books. I miss my trolley rides to work because that is where I would get my reading fix. Love the new pics, and I might just have to check out Ricochet now :)... Norma
Love the new pics! I'm going on a work audit trip on Sunday, so I bought Ricochet tonight to read on the plane, etc! Can't wait to get it started!
