Finalization

Today, my parents, Eric's dad, Eric, Whitney, and I headed to the giant courthouse downtown to finalize the adoption process. Whitney was an absolute angel, and received LOTS of compliments from the other people waiting to go before the judge. Still more people commenting on how much Whitney looks like Eric and his dad....even when they knew we were there to finalize her adoption! :) God sure knew what He was doing!
Our attorney asked us a series of questions that made us both tear up (and my mom flat-out cried behind us) :)
"In the last 90 days, do you feel that a mother/daughter relationship has been achieved?"
"Do you promise to love Whitney forever,acting as her mother?"
Those are the only two I can remember because it all happened so fast. But it was perfect. :)

Whitney's dress, of course, says her name in bright pink, as this is the day she "officially, legally" becomes our Whitney Faith. :) A BIG THANK YOU to Sarah Beth and Brett who sent Miss Whitney her dress months ago. I had to detatch the two DARLING pink polkadot bows from the shoulders because she was drooling on them and eating them! :( But she looked SOOOO cute anyway :)


And here is the video that I CAN NOT STOP watching. Eric and I were playing with Whitney in her playroom the other night. We put the Laugh n Learn Puppy in front of her and started playing all the cheesy songs for her. She liked the songs and was smiling a lot. But when I started doing the motions to "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" with her, she CRACKED UP over and over and over. SOOO cute!!!! We just keep falling more and more in love with this little girl!
