Hot Mama Topic Tuesday

This week, Beth picked the topic. She asked us to write about some quotes or lyrics that have special meaning to us. I was excited to tackle another fun topic! Thanks Beth!

I tend to find meaning in a LOT of songs, so I could never list allll the special lyrics Ive heard through the years. It seems like, right when I NEED something to relate to or something that says what I am feeling or thinking, some song comes along and says it better than I could (and certainly sings it better than I could!) Some of the songs/lyrics that make me think of Eric and Whitney:









And this one always reminds me of my mom:


And there are a TON more songs that have touched me and helped me through rough times or helped me laugh even harder in the good times :)
Some quotes that mean a lot to me:

"Faith is taking the first step, even when you dont see the whole staircase."
We wrote this in our adoption profile and I lvoe that T and L said THAT was what sorta "sealed the deal" for them. That quote helped them finalize their plans to place Whitney with us, as much as it helped us get through the adoption waiting period. I have heard that Martin Luther King, Jr. said it first, but I also read that Mother Teresa can take credit...and since they were both pretty cool people, I'll let them both claim it here. :)

This verse got through many days in the last several years. I knew that it was all happening for a reason, and I knew it would be worth the wait. I knew that God had it all figured out and that He was fulfilling all his promises to me. I may not have understood it WHILE I was waiting or while I was frustrated...but it becomes more and more clear each day. And waiting for Whitney wasnt the last struggle we will face. We are doing great now and things are all happy and wonderful here today...but when things DO get rough, this verse is so important, and one I repeat as often as I need to to feel comfroted.

No sweeter words have ever been spoken :) (in my humble opinion, of course!)
