Grady's First Haircut!

Grady is showing fewer and fewer baby traits, and more and more "big kid" skills every day.  I'll write more about that in his FIRST BIRTHDAY update (yikes! already?!), but one of the recent "my baby boy isnt a BABY anymore" moments came the day before Easter when we finally decided to get Grady his first legit hair cut!

I had attempted to trim his mullet a few times, and each time the hair would still hang over the back of his collared shirts and give him the whole "Terrry Bradshaw" effect....

See? Not cute.

So, as with most major parenting decisions around this house, on a whim, we decided to walk into the local kids' haircut shop.  After playing with some Thomas the Train toys in the waiting area, Grady was ready for his turn in the chair :)

He is so laid back, but I wasnt sure how cooperative he would be since Ive never done this whole "kid haircut" thing.  I always trim Whitney's hair myself, so other than my own salon experiences, I wasnt sure what to expect for kids.

Grady did GREAT! No one could believe how happy and excited he was lol

He even waved to the VERY sad little boy sitting next to him. The poor kid was screaming as though the stylist had just chopped his EAR off.  I have heard that a lot of kids are traumatized by haircuts, so I was mentally preparing for a meltdown.

But nope. Grady was a champ!!

He sat still, watching Mickey on TV, and smiled and laughed.

He didnt even budge or cry when the electric clippers came out!

And he looks SO much neater/cleaner and more like a big kid!

And I can still make the mohawk that is so popular lol

This little dude is such a good boy :) We are so blessed!
