Phew. It started during our vacation when he had low energy and was just sleepy and "blah".....
And then it progressed through an anger phase where he was just mad and crying. A lot.
I miss my happy sweet baby boy!
Now we have entered the cuddly, whiny, pitiful phase of teething.
I'm digging the extra cuddles but can't wait for these three giant molars to pop through and allow us to move on with life!
Last week, Whitney had her "final performance" for her summer ballet class. She looked like such a big kid!
And I got a little teary eyed when her gym played "Never Grow Up" by Taylor Swift as the girls warmed up. Sniff sniff. My baby!!!!
She did a great job! And as much as I miss those baby days and the ease of life with just one baby, I'm loooooving these hectic, crazy, dramatic days filled with play dates and ballet classes and tennis lessons and school supply shopping!
She is seriously such a cool kid. At least once a day I hear her say something or see her do something that makes me want to scoop her up, twirl her around, and squeeze her tightly, reminding her how much I love her and how freakin awesome I think she is. :)
She loooooves her either. Like, wants to talk to him and hug him and kiss him all. Day. Long. And she's so smart, I bet she will be reading to him before Christmas!
She has an amazing memory and such a kind heart. And she's not only swimming on her own. Now she jumps in the pool like a big kid! At the beginning of the summer, I neverrrr would've guessed she would love swimming as much as she does!
She loves to "read" the Peter Pan book my parents brought me from Japan when I was little. It has all Japanese characters in it, but the pictures tell the story of Peter Pan. She is so much fun to listen to as she resells the story, adding little details and dialogue on each page. So cool.
She's silly and happy but melodramatic and a deep thinker. She is emotional but level headed and rational. She is really one of the most awesome and amazing people I've ever known and I still can't believe I get to be her mommy.
And more Grady cuddles while watching more Disney movies. His attention span is ridiculous. And he is now bringing me the remote control when commercials come on, pointing at the tv as if to say, "a commercial? Really? Fix this. We dont DO commercials in this house." We are creating a monster but its in his blood. With an Uncle in TV and a cousin in LA for movies and television, and given the role television has played in my own family, is it any surprise that he has TV-loving DNA?!
We went to their cousin Gemmas birthday party last weekend. Grady was the life of the party. sigh. Have I mentioned how much I loathe teeth??!
So I brought him home to sleep while Eric styled to let Whitney show off her swimming skills a bit longer. I had to stop and take a pic of us in his mirror as I was convinced this was the last time this little boy would drift off to sleep in my arms. I may have cried a little. :(
After another accidental dunk in the pool last weekend, Bailey has an appointment with the vet this Friday. Eric and I are going to discuss options re letting Bailey go. It's terribly sad and doesn't feel real yet but I'm pretty sure we are makin the right decision. He is soooo shaky and scared all day and he had an accident in the house last week. He's bumping into everything and everyone and we know our dog. He's not happy. He doesn't like being this nervous and unsure with every step. Friday will be tough. :( I'm hoping to get some pics of the kids with our beloved Baileydogger this week.
And today (how is it only Tuesday??!?) we interrupted this cuddle-Buzz-watching session.....
...for a little bit of coloring fun! Both kids love to color!
And when we learned that Uncle Jay was home in his jammies watching movies, too, Whitney wanted to make him a sign!
She was so proud :)
And after seek g his sign on Facebook, Uncle Jay called us to say hi!
Upside down Uncle Jay earned LOTS of belly laughs from a silly little girl who thinks he is hiiiiiiiilarious!
And despite his unimpressed expression, Grady loved FaceTime! He waved and smiled and said "Ha!"
And blew kisses :)
And because I can never take enough sleeping baby pictures, I always feel cheated when Grady wiggles and squirms the second he hears his bedroom door open. So once again I am stuck with sleeping baby (monitor) pictures. Am I the only one who still stares at the monitor, 15 months later, a year after that sketchy newborn phase, and just wants to go scoop them up and snuggle them??! He looks giant tonight :(
