I have so many fun Whitney stories to tell and really want to write out a 15 month update here, but I'll post some recent pics for now. I have been writing things down in her journal as she says new things or does something funny, but I am realizing how convenient those monthly updates and chair pics were :)
Here's Her Highness one night last week. She wouldnt eat her brocolli (a usual favorite) in her high chair, but Eric set the tray down on a box in the kitchen, and she started digging in. Just wanted a change of scenery, i guess :) She also thought it was sooo funny that she could walk around carrying broccoli. haha
We try to rotate Whitney's toys so that things dont get "old" after just a few uses, and so we dont have to play with the saaaame toys over and over. I pulled out the pony that her Aunt Summer and Uncle Mike bought her for her 1st birthday, and Whitney was SOOO excited! She couldnt wait to bounce and spin again!
WHY does she look 5 years old here!?
One night last week, we headed over to our friends' Kathy and Jimmy's house to catch up with their girls and to pick up the toddler bed they are no longer using. Whitney ADORES Emiley and Kacey, and we apprecaite all the toys and hand-me-downs these girls are sharing with our princess! Whitney absolutely LOVED the dress up high-heeled shoes that Kacey shared with her. She did NOT want to take them off, despite my dear that she would slip and break her neck on the tile floors. Can my BABY GIRL REALLLLLY be interested in dress-up clothes already!? sniff, sniff
The toddler bed went into the attic, hopefully for a very long time. :) Whitney LOVES her crib and really doesnt like to sleep anywhere else. But she did LOVE climbing up and down from this bed while it sat in the garage waiting for its trip to the attic. As cute as she is, sitting there so nicely, the big girl bed days are a loooong way away. Im not gonna make that leap until she climbs out of her crib for the first time. For now, our BABY is staying a BABY. :)
On Saturday, we were blessed with a visit from Eric's cousin Autumn and her husband Bobby and their two boys Alex and Zach. Most of Eric's cousins were able to make it out to the beach to spend the day wearing the kids out and catching up. :) We all laughed that "Whitney will NEVER have a boyfriend!!" Look at all these boy cousins! They all looked out for her and wanted to hold her and take her in the water. Such SWEET boys taking care of our little girl :)
I didnt bring my camera to the beach for fear of getting sand in it (again), but Im hoping Autumn will email the gazillion pics she took that day :) hint, hint!
On Sunday, we headed to a few Disney parks with Eric's brother, Daniel, and his wife Crystal. Our nephews, Kyle and Dean are visitng Crystal's mom in Delaware, so we had an (almost) adult day at the parks. Whitney was a good sport and waited with Daddy while Mommy got to ride Rockin' Rollercoaster, and swapping parents while we each got to ride Mission to Mars. We had a fun day despite the rain and extreme humidity.
She got to meet some Army guys from Toy Story :)
And some new favorites, Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc!!
Daddy and Uncle Daniel had fun horsing around after their mission to mars. :)
And I realized that, every single time we see characters, *I* am in the pictures. Eric is always the cameraman. So we thought we'd give Whitney a shot at taking pics alone with her favorite mouse and his friends. I wasnt sure if she would go to them on her own since she's showing some stranger anxiety lately (thanks to being 14 months old)! But sure enough...the kid took OFF RUNNING to Mickey :) She ran right into his arms, much to everyone's surprise, and turned around to sit in their laps, looked up at the camera and smiled big :) She was SOOO happy, running from character to character, giving high 5's, kisses, hugs, and major smiles :)
And this is the very same outfit Whitney wore back in December when we met with Mickey and Minnie before Christmas. That is seven months of wear on this adorable dress, and not one sign of falling apart or wearing out. I think she might wear it through Christmas this year with pants and a long-sleeve shirt! I love great quality kids clothes like this, especially when the price is unbeatable! THANKS AGAIN, Izzy B!
Today we went to My Gym and Whitney continues to love it. She is getting used to all the instructors and hopefully she'll start running to them the way she runs to Mickey Mouse :) We have a few playdates this week and other opportunities for pics, and I definitely want to try to recap all the fun new things Whitney is learning everyday :) Hope everyone had an excellent weekend!
