Whitney had her 18 month appointment this morning. She was a ROCK STAR! She showed off her counting skills and really wow'd the doc and nurses with her vocabulary and comprehension :) She also didnt even make a peep when they drew blood to test her hemoglobin, but did LOVE the pink camoflage band-aid the nurse put on her finger :) The doc said her hemoglobin was "AWESOME!" and said "You must be a REALLY SUPER eater!" and Whitney proudly yelled, "YES!" :)
Whitney is 26 lbs 6oz (75th %ile) and 32 inches (50th %ile) and her head is 18 inches (50th %ile). She is staying right in the middle of her growth curve, and has already hit most of her 24 month mielstones (putting words together, stacking more than 2 blocks, throwing overhand, etc).
Whitney hadnt had any vaccines since she came home from the hospital, but we started catching up today so that we are prepared for our vacation out of the country in March. She got one shot in her leg, and barely even flinched. No tears, no wincing, no whining. It was almost like it never even happened :) My mom seriously asked if it was normal and okay for her to exhibit ZERO response to pain! haha
After the doctor, we headed to the park to meet Aunt Summer and "da Booooyeees" for some swinging and exercising :)
We have a fun weekend planned with a Clemson win over FSU (positive thinking..?) and a birthday party for a cool little girl, followed by trying out a new church closer to home and some Hollywood Studios Christmas lights and snowfall :)
I'll leave you with some cuteness :)

One year ago this week.....
And today:
She has the BEST Daddy! He took the morning off work to come to her doc appointment because he knew Mommy wasnt thrilled with the idea of shots!
Sayin hi to Conrad at the park :)
Seriously??? WHERE did the baby go!??!???
Summer and I must look like a comedy show or reality TV show gone bad when we have all three kids in public and on the loose! Its always nice when two swings are available to hold two kids hostage give the kids a break from running around!
Whitney LOOOVES acorns, and was amazed when some fell from the big tree :)
Every time we leave a park, I have at least 3 acorns in my pocket. It is only a matter of time before these little gifts end up in my washing machine....
Woody is her new favorite. He came everywhere with us today, and she even rejected Bear Blanket in exchange for some Woody cuddles. He explored the WHOLE playground with Whitney today.
Slides arent JUST for sliding!
This was when my heart might have skipped a few beats. Whitney looooves to climb the ladders at her gym class. But this was the first real ladder-climbing experience in the real world....I tried to stand back and let her go as far as she wanted. I did a pretty good job until i realized that it was probably not wise to stand back and snap pics...just in case.
Yep, that's 3 steps into the air...without a mat or cushion below....and with Mommy standing back to take pics. She went up another step, but when she was almost horizontal to the ground, I didnt see this ending well, so I put the camera down and helped her back to Earth. Daddy will be so proud of his little daredevil :)
This reminds me of hamsters and gerbils.....stand back, Matt Millhollin! Wouldnt want you breaking out in hives!! :)
How cute are they!? So blessed that we have built-in playdates right next door :)
Showing off a potential Christmas dress :) I think we have a winner! I plan to embroider her monogram on the front in red thread, and make her a matching bow :) And as CUTE as that will be....I am DREADING the whole Christmas card picture madness that will have to occur in the next few weeks....stop the insanity. |
