Here we go again! Acting like one of those families who workout and stay active and....well, look at that. I guess we sorta ARE one of those families! Having two active kids keeps us busy and keeps our calendars packed with fun stuff!
Grady started a weekly class at My Gym!
He LOVES it, and I love watching him have fun and learn to interact with other kids and be separated from me.
I LOVE that our My Gym location has the same great group of teachers who taught Whitney's classes back in 2010!
This was his first class, but he's been twice since and loves it more and more each time.
He waves to people and laughs and smiles and comes out of his shell. He crawls everywhere and bounces on the trampoline. And last Monday, he stood on his own for about 30 seconds, and started clapping! So fun!
Whitney didnt have school one Monday, so she joined us to watch Grady enjoying class.
And Mac, Gramps, and GG joined us last week!
Two grandparents AND a Great Grandfather at gym class?! Lucky kid.
And "Bubbles!!!!!"
I look forward to Mondays now that he is in gym classes :)
And while the kids keep us busy, we do find time to occasionally enjoy kid-free time. Eric has a contact who gave us some amazing seats for this year's Daytona 500! We were really looking forward to a fun day of people-watching and cars :)
And as art of the race-week events, Eric ran in his THIRD half marathon! He ran his personal best despite the (literally) freezing temperatures! We were planning to meet him at the finish line, but decided to keep the kids home since it was soooo cold!
We all headed out for Eric's favorite BBQ for lunch to refuel the Daddy-O!
And while Im not a huge NASCAR fan, my boys sure do love their cars!
We dropped the kids off at my parents' house and got a late start after getting Grady to lay down for a nap. We sat in two hours of traffic less than 14 miles from the race track. We figured we would be fine with parking because Eric's hook-up also gave us VIP parking in a super-special parking lot right next to Turn One.
Yeah. Well. All the other super special people thought ahead and got to the track at a reasonable hour. So that lot was full by the time we showed up on the scene.
The only other option? The furthest possible parking spot from the race track. We literally had to take a school bus to a tram to a (im not joking) tractor that dropped us off about a quarter mile from our seats.
See? Legit tractor. And Im riding it. To our VIP seats. Welcome to NASCAR!
But we enjoyed catered food, all you can eat and drink, and....during the last several laps....they passed out candy!!
We had a lot of fun despite our trek back to the car and the weather being ten degrees colder than predicted. Our close family was at the race the day before when there was a wreck in the last lap and a tire and axle and car parts flew into their section. I was really glad they were okay, of course, but also really glad our seats were INDOORS and up really high!
And really? How cool is this:
