I think St. Paddy's Day weekend was one of my favorite weekends of the year, so far!
We started the weekend on Friday night, heading over to my parents' house for my mom's famous corned beef and cabbage dinner.
Its one of my top three favorite meals my mom makes, and I was sorta bummed when she said she hadnt planned on making it this year. I think she could tell I was gonna miss it because about 20 minutes after our conversation, she texted me and said, "Corned beef, our house, next weekend".....She's the best mom EVER :)
We ate and ate and Whitney was excited to start hiding and finding eggs over and over to kick off the Easter season :) Gramps hid ten eggs and Whitney had fun finding them hidden in the couch and in the cork bucket and all over. :)
BOTH kids gobbled up the corned beef and carrots, too!
We attempted to take a picture of the kids with their grandparents... I love that my mom is laughing at Eric's shenanigans intended to get his own children to smile at the camera :)
The weather was nice, so the kids enjoyed some golf cart rides and, of course, Grady got some laps in his "CAH!!"
I love that you can never really tell who is having more fun....the grandkids or the grandparents?!
After running off some steam, we were discussing the birthday videos my dad is making for the kids' birthdays next month. We got to watch Whitney's 3rd birthday video :)
I cant believe how much she has grown up in just a year!!
It was a great St. Paddy's Day celebration and while Im hoping my mom agrees to make her traditional meal EVERY year, Im also hoping she teaches me how to make it for my own family so I can carry on the tradition for years to come :)
On Saturday, one of my best friends from college was in town from NJ with her THREE boys!
We met up with Alexa and her oldest son, D, two years ago and we were supposed to meet up last year but I was about 93 weeks pregnant and I think it was my baby shower weekend, so it didnt work out.
But this year, we wouldnt miss it for the world!
Magic Kingdom was crowded, but is always a nice place to have a play date :)
We even got to see the Easter Bunny (and his girlfriend..? wife?)
Whitney was excited to tackle the season's first Peep! YUM!
Alexa and I have added THREE baby boys to the mix since we last saw each other! She had baby boys six months ago and they are SOOO cute and never made a peep the entire time!
Grady was excited to practice saying, "Babeeeee" over and over :)
And Whitney was excited to see Peter Pan as we walked to Pirates of the Caribbean!
D is such an awesome big brother and truly a great kid to spend time with!
All of our babies :)
We checked out the new Tangled tower and were surprised to learn that whole area, while decorated perfectly, is just a restroom area...eh.
We did the tea cups and Philharmagic, Pirates, and Its a Small World. It was a great day with perfect weather and the best-behaved kids in the Kingdom!
Eric was a trooper and took the kids on all the rides while Alexa and I caught up :)
On our way out,
these kids crack each other up! I LOVE these moments!
And we all love spotting these "hidden mickeys" that add so much magic to each and every Disney visit :)
It truly doesnt get old. You just have to smile and be happy every time you see that castle.
And of course, that kind of fun wears both kids out and makes for a very quiet ride home!
On Sunday, Eric's Uncle Eddie and Eddie's wife Danielle (Aunt DeeDeeDee) mentioned they were heading to the beach. We hadnt been to the beach since last July, and it was such a pretty day we loaded up the car and headed to the beach!
Both kids LOVED it!
We knew this bathing beauty would continue her love for all things beachy, but we werent really sure if Grady would love it, sorta like it, or really hate it.
Its safe to say, he LOVED it!
He wouldve played in that surf for HOURS if we let him!
He only tried to take a mouthful once, but quickly realized his mistake and never bothered with it again. He was digging with his hands and his toes. He was laughing at the waves crashing on him. And he really loved the sea gulls :)
This fair-haired boy did great with sun block, not showing ANY signs of sun. He fell asleep in Eric's arms during a short walk on the beach, and took a 45 minute snooze on me in a chair.
Whitney loved being buried in the sand, building castles, and just playing in the sun and sand!
I cant WAIT for our beach week in July!!!!!
These two beach babes make my heart smile :)
Whitney is on Spring Break this week, and if the weather cooperates, I think we will head out to the beach again!
