Leggo My Eggos! :)

Retrieval went well this morning! We got 4 "perfect beauties" according to the doc! He seemed very pleased with the quality. I would have liked 5, but at this point, I am just soooo thrilled to have GOOD EGGS! :) Quality is more important than quantity...and it only takes one! (I will be repeating those phrases to myself over the next few days)!

I had a LOT of pain this time. I was actually slightly happy that I only had one ovary this morning because I cant imagine having double the pain. They gave me extra IV pain meds and 2 demerol, so I should be back to sleep shortly. i dont have pain right now, but I can tell I will when this med wears off. :( It will be worth it though!

Eric gets to start my Progesterone in Oil (PIO) shots tonight. They go in my "hip" (ass) and the needle is ridiculous (1.5 inches and thick). I neverh ad a problem last time, so I am hoping my "warm the PIO in my bra, sit on a heating pad, get shot, sit on heating pad again" technique works this time, too. I think Eric secretly enjoys this part of IVF. :)

They will put my 4 beauties in the dish with Eric's boys this afternoon. Then they will leave them alone overnight and check on them tomorrow to make sure they fertilize. There are 4 retrievals and 1 tranfer at the center tomorrow morning, so the nurse said the embryologist wont disturb our beauties until around noon. Then they will give us a call to let us know how they did. There is always the chance that they wont fertilize, so we signed paperwork allowing them to do "rescue ICSI" if they need to. (Basically, the embryologist would pick the four "best" sperm from the bunch and inject them into my eggs, forcing fertilization.) Ideally, they want nature to select the best sperm on it's own...but they can still "rescue" if necessary.

My transfer will be at 10am on Thursday. Eric and I have agreed that we will put back the maximum number they allow. :) If we "only" put two back in, it will mean that my embies were just SOOO beautiful that we dont need that third one in there as a "back up". If the doc suggest all three, we will go ahead and risk higher order multiples. We will take whatever God gives us!

So..that is the latest. Sorry if this isnt coherant. I am a little out of it. Off to sleep and cuddle with my puppy! :) Thanks again for all of your prayers and support!
