Dinner was yummy, even if eaten on the couch watching TV. The walk makes Bailey really happy, and Whitney once again enjoyed a brief stroll to the front gate of our neighborhood. When we got back home, Eric warmed wash cloths while I got Whitney ready for "bath" time. We cant give her a true bath yet since her cord is still in tact, but we just use warm washcloths to wipe her down. (One of my pet peeves at the daycare was when kids would have fuzz/dirt/grime in their toes or fingers or (ack!) their neck...so I am constantly checking to make sure our little girl is as fuzz-free as realiztically possible.) She LOVES it. Ok, so its only the second night of "bath" time, but she has liked it both times. :) And when her hair is wet, it curls up and is sooooo cute!!

(i was putting her binky back in her mouth as Eric snapped the pic...but isnt she CUTE!?)
After bathtime, Eric gave Whitney her bottle. Of course, true to form, she burped for him like a pro. (She rarely burps for anyone else...including me.)
Then it was time for books! If you know me in real life, or have had any kind of relationship with me at all, you know that I LOVE books and have been waiting to read to my own child for YEARS. I have grown a pretty impressive collections of books for Miss Whitney to enjoy, and I was so excited to start reading to her every night. I got all teary-eyed as we finished our first book last night. So tonight was Eric's turn to read.
He took his job very seriously, and Whitney and Bailey REALLLY enjoyed this part of our "routine". :)
This picture makes me soooo happy...THIS is what I prayed for all those years.

Bailey may have been distracted by the new toy Eric bought him...

"Guess How Much I Love You" is a really good book!

Clearly, Whitney couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next!

This is where she pointed and said "Read that book again, Daddy!"

Life is good. I couldnt have dreamed it better than this.

Sooo cute! We read to Stephanie all the time and have since we brought her home. I am proud to say that she is now an avid "reader" and would sit with books all day long if I let her. Just wait until you give her the real first bath...the fun really begins then!
Im so glad to hear things are going so well all the pics of her are just beautiful just like her little self...
I got chills...the books got me! You know I am with you on the books! :) She is amazing and I am SO happy for you and Eric (and Bailey for his awesome new toy!) :)

She's adorable! That routine is the same one we have, and Ethan LOVES books to this day. We read to him from day one, and it's great! We had a WONDERFUL time at Disney, but wish we could have met up. Hopefully next time we are down!
Man, I love your updates! The "hair" photo right after the bath is awesome, too. Seriously, each post of yours that i read makes me tear up. What a blessing she is to you, and you and your hubby are to her.
I am just loving your updates these days! Aislinn just started joining Daddy and Shannon for "book time" before bed. So sweet to see Whitney enjoying her daddy's reading, too!
Amen sister!
Brings back memories! I read Guess How Much I Love you to Mason every night from birth up until he was old enough to pick a different book to read at bedtime. It's continues to be one of our favorites even though we don't read it nightly these days. So sweet.
That is the sweetest thing I have ever seen...you have one awesome hubby/daddy! :)
You guys are great parents! LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing with us all!
