My Perfect Friday Night

Last night, we had my Katie-bug from work come over with her parents. We just grilled out and caught up on what I've missed at work, but it was relaxing and fun to see how much Kaitlyn has grown (she is WALKING!?) since she first came to my classroom at 8 weeks old, last year. Eric and I were amazed at how fast the grow and how much we have to look forward to with our Whitney!

After the Salmons left (yes, the Basses have friends named the Salmons!), Bailey came to cuddle his little sister on the couch with me. Talk about a daydream come true!!






And yesterday afternoon, Whitney and I snuggled on the couch a bit and I was (once again) attempting to catch a smile. This time, she must have been having some great dreams because she kept smiling in her sleep!





We are so in love with this little girl! The official TPR (termination of parental rights) has been filed in all the necessary courts, so we are one step closer to "forever"! Her finalization (when we get our names on her birth certificate and go swear in front of the judge that we will be good parents, etc) will be sometime in July or August. We might schedule her dedication at church for the same week, and then throw a big party! :) What an exciting, amazing year this has turned out to be. We are blessed beyond measure.
