Easter Weekend Fun!

Whitney and I went to the Magic Kingdom on Friday with my friend, Julie, and her daughter Emma.  Whitney and Emma are about 3 months apart and will likely be in the same Kindergarten class :) Summer and Mike from next door joined us for a little bit with Cortland and Conrad...so we pretty much had the local Elementary School Kindergarten class of 2014 in the Happiest Place on Earth :)

Emma had never been to Disney and Julie hadnt been in about 15 years, so it was fun to see Julie's eyes well up with tears as her little girl saw Mickey and Minnie for the first time!

Whitney, of course, had to get in some facetime with her favorite mice :)

And we stopped by to see some of our favorite princesses :)

Whitney LOVES those tea cups and was thrilled to have her Emma Grace join in the fun!  Emma loved it, too!!

While Whitney, Emma, Julie, and I spent time at Disney World, Eric and his dad were installing new wood floors in our family room! Dont they look awesome!? The entire project was really inexpensive (came from Sam's Club!), and Eric and his dad were able to get it 90% complete in less than 6 hours! Eric finished up the trim last night, and it looks like a whole new room! LOVE it!

We are really happy with the final product, and they match our kitchen cabinets perfectly!

On Saturday, G.G. invited us to the Easter egg hunt thrown by his community.  Whitney knows when we pull in the parking lot, "Goin' to GG's!!!!!!!" and immediately starts talking about "pushin' da buttons on da elgibator!" (elevator).  She loooves pressing the "3" for GG's floor!

Your eyes are not fooling you.  That is the same dress she wore for her 1st birthday party :) I loved it so much, I bought it in 2 sizes last year, and it worked perfectly as an Easter dress this year!

The egg hunt party started at 10am, but Whitney was the ONLY child there until about 10:45am.  Thankfully, she was able to hold off all two-year-old-tantrum behavior until other kids arrived, taking the attention off her.  It is like a switch has been flipped, and my perfect, nice, super well-behaved little angel is now completely unpredictable and rotten.  I have been spoiled for the last 2 years, never battling more than an occasional moment of manageable drama.  Now? Im toast.  She is giving me a run for my money, for sure.

The easter party was cute, with songs and games and then the egg hunt.  A 5 year old girl snatched two eggs RIGHT from underneath Whitney's hand, but Mac was on the case and made sure the little brat little angel returned the eggs to their rightful owner.

Whitney loves spending time with her GG and couldnt wait to show him her stash!

We had a really nice time, laughed a lot (under our breath and out loud), and were really happy to let GG show off his great granddaughter :)

After a nap for Whitney, we all headed over to our friends' house.  Kathy and I met when we both worked at Chase and have been great friends ever since.  She also happens to be my hairdresser :) We always have a GREAT time with Kathy and Jimmy, and it was sooo fun to see our little girl playing with their big girls. 

Jimmy is a bar manager at a reallllly delicious restaurant near our house.  He recently hosted some wine tastings and was in the process of making some changes to the wine lists.  Since he had MANY opened bottles of the new wines, he didnt want them to go to waste, so they invited us over to help them take care of those partial bottles :) We brought the sides and they provided awesome steaks, and we all had a great night!

The reds are on the counter behind Kathy, and the whites were in the fridge.  We hardly made a dent!

Jimmy's sister, Kim, brother in law, Dave, and their daughter Briana joined us, too.  All four girls had a BLAST...and poor Kacey's room took the brunt of the force! They were dressing up and trading outfits and dressing up some more!

The playroom was a wreck, too, but the girls were having SO MUCH fun!

Emiley, Briana, and Kacey are SOOOO nice to "Baby Whitney"! They helped her get dressed up and put on movies for her and read her books.  They all played until 11pm without one tear, fight, argument, or moment of drama.  Even two-year-old Whitney was drama-free the entire time!

After dress-up, the girls were allowed to decorate some cookies with sprinkles!

They watched a little bit of "Tangled" before the grownups decided it was time to go home.

We had such a great time, and look forward to lots of fun times with our girls in the future!

This morning, Whitney had fun finding the basket the Easter Bunny had hidden at our house :) We are having lunch at my parents now, where Whitney was happy to learn the Easter Bunny visits Gramps and Mac's house, too!
