Some cute pics from Easter Sunday at my parents house:
Whitney was excited to hunt for Easter eggs at Mac and Gramps' house!
Counting her eggs with Mac..."one...two....fwee.....four....five....six....seben...."
After a yummy ham lunch, Whitney decided to snuggle up on the couch with her Gramps. She's NEVER napped at Mac and Gramps' house, and while she didnt technically "sleep" in his lap, she was awfully comfy and cozy. :)
Eric was in the middle of a week-long battle with strep throat, so we didnt stay long and we didnt get to go to Eric's dad's house like we had planned. :( But we have a reallllly fun weekend scheduled with all of them this weekend!
Today has been one of those awesome days you want to remember from beginning to end. Whitney has been on her best behavior again, and her imagination is amazing! We've had so much fun playing with all her dolls, and we even had fun cleaning up all her princess people (the figurines that go with the castle). She asked to make cupcakes, so I told her we could make muffins after her nap. She jumped up and yelled, "YES! Unca D will luff them!" (Uncle D will love them!) Uncle D is my Uncle Dennis who was here for Christmas. He lives in Ohio and recently had surgery on his eye/eyelid. We have talked about him more frequently lately, espeically in our prayers at night. Apparently Whitney has Uncle D in her thoughts, because she couldnt wait to make him some muffins!
For the past few months, getting Whitney out of her crib in the morning was quite a task. She would be happpppily singing and talking on the monitor, but as soon as we (me especially) walked into her room, she would shout, "NO, MOMMY!" or "NO, DADDY!" and bury her head in her pillow and blanket. She just did NOT want to get out of her crib! This would go on for several minutes, sometimes as long as an hour. We would tell her "Ok, just call us when youre ready and we'll come get you..." and she would play and talk and then finally yell, "I READY TO GET UP!!" and we could finally carry on with our day.
Thankfully, the last week has seen that trend become history, as she has been excited and happy to get out of bed each morning. (knock on wood) This morning, she lifted up her arms and said "Yeah! Youre HERE, Mommy!" I picked her up and she gave me the biggest hug and said, "I luff you, I luff you, I luff you!"
(luff = love) What a great way to start our day!?
During lunch, Whitney was looking at the wall of pictures we have in our kitchen. We recently changed out most of the pics for some newer cuteness, but the ones on the bottom are sooo special, as they are from the first time we met Whitney in the hospital and her first weeks at home. Whitney was staring at the hospital pic and said "BABY WHITTEY!" And I told her "Yep, thats the day Mommy and Daddy held you for the first time! I looove that day!" and she said "Yeah. Thanksyou, Mommy." (yes, i cried.) Now, Whitney is a smart kid. Very smart. But I doubt she really means "Thank you for being my Mommy." I am not saying that. Im not really entirely sure WHAT she meant, but I thought it was cute. :)
Bailey has never taken one toy of Whitney's. He's never torn any of her toys liimb form limb and he's never done anything more than sniff the toys she owns. However, Whitney, in all of her two-ness, has been really sensitive about Bailey coming near her toys lately. I rearranged the playroom last night to fit the new bench/storage bin Eric put together, and Bailey was naturally curious about her playroom. He started sniffing Whitney's jewelry as she was sorting it this morning, and Whitney said, "Mommy, Baywee no eat my jooly. He no eat it. Good boy, Bay. Good doggie." Im hoping that means we've turned a corner on the shreeeeeks of frustration whenever Bailey enters her personal space.
Whitney LOOOVES to sort the jewelry she was given for her birthday. Its just plastic pink, purple, and white necklaces and rings and bracelets, but you would think it was mad eof the finest golds and most precious jewels! She takes it out of her little castel jewelry box, lays it all out in front of her, admires it lovingly, sometimes puts on a bracelet or two, and then puts it all back nicely. Then repeats the process on another table or surface. :)
This morning, she let her babydoll wear some of her favorite bawbles!
After playing with her princess dress-up clothes, Whitney was looking for her microphones and wands. She found them ("FIGH-nu-weee, Mommy! I found dem!") and pressed play on her favorite microphone. "Bibbity, Bobbity, Boo" started to play and Whitney excitedly yelled, "I MAKE A PUNKIN! I make da punkin for da BALL, Mommy!!" Just like the Fairy Godmother turns a pumpkin into a coach for Cinderella to take to the Royal Ball. :)
While walking around in Snow White's dress up heels, Whitney yelled, "I going to da ball! I going to do BALL, Mommy!!" So we talked about dancing with a prince at a ball, and what songs she would dance to. "Bwessid be da name, Mommy. Yes, dat one."
(I was sorta thinking "Dance with Cinderella" would top that list....but I'll take a song praising God anyday!)
And, with great pleasure, I very proudly announce the long-awaited return of......
CHAIR PICTURES!!
If you've been reading here long enough, you know that I used to take monthly pics of Whitney in her pink PBK chair. It was so fun to see her grow and change, and to watch her little (big!) personality come through in the photos. Thank you to a friendly request by Randi, Stori, and a few other girls, I was happy to snap these pics this morning....and Whitney was MORE than willing to pose!!
But first...a walk down Memory Lane:
Three Days Old
One Month Old
Two Months Old

Four Months Old
Five Months Old
Six Months Old
Seven Months Old
Eight Months Old
Nine Months Old
Ten Months Old
Eleven Months Old
ONE YEAR OLD!
and presenting......TWO YEARS OLD!!!
I took a bunch of pics, but this one just sums up who Whitney is right now. She is carefree and wild and silly and HAPPY :)
And of course, we have had our share of outtakes and silliness with chair pics in the past, so why would today be any different!?
(Nine Months....running away from the camera...)
...and she's gone...
..and today:
I know...Its tough to handle all that cutness in one day, right!? Maybe I'll give you a few days to recover...
