Eric's fabulous cousin, Devin, has been nicely stalking me and asking for the pics from this past weekend. I have had these pics uploaded for a few days, but we were working on the DVD/movie for Whitney's birthday party (tomorrow!?) so I am just getting around to posting. SORRY, DEVIN!!
Isnt he the best Daddy ever?? :)
Aunt Cindy, Uncle Casey, Devin, Jordan, Justin, and Nick came to visit from Georgia this weekend. Nick and Justin are home on leave from Italy, so we all gathered at Aunt Carol and Uncle Joe's house to spend time together and enjoy the nice weather! We were sorry to miss Chelsey, Parker, Melanie, Dawson, and the rest of the fam, but it was nice to spend time together and get the little cousins together for some fun!
Whitney was excited to open her very first birthday present of the year!
Aunt Cindy got her "Tangled", and Im not sure who is more excited at our house! I looove the music from the movie, and I already know its going to be a longtime favorite around here :) THANKS AGAIN, Aunt Cindy and Co.!
Whitney and her cousin "Baby Callie" were happily dancing to the fabulous music :)
Callie was like a moth to a flame with my camera! She loooves cameras! LOVE her!
I sometimes think that Whitney and Callie look so much alike because of their hair, but this pic reminds me of Whitney at that age/stage. Callie is 11 months and RUNNING, just like Whitney did :)
We attempted to get pics of the baby girl cousins together, but its like nailing jello.
Whitney doesnt really "give hugs". She mostly just leans into you and expects YOU to do all the work. We were trying to tell her to wrap her arms around Callie and actually GIVE a hug.
How cute is he!? Corbyn is such a strong little dude. He is obsessed with Buzz Lightyear and was thrilled to show off his "Buzz wings" as we all waited for "Tangled" to start :)
I love that you can see his dimple and tell that he has a HUGE smile, even though he isnt looking at the camera :)
Whitney doesnt get to see Nick or Devin very often. In fact, she hasnt seen them since their wedding back in December. But she happily and without hesitating hopped right into their laps to watch the movie :) She just knows good people when she sees them :)
Whitney was introduced to the fascination of zhu zhu pets last weekend. Aunt Carol showed her how their zhu zhu pet worked and WHitney was HOOKED!
She watched it wander the house for a WHILE!
And looooved pushing the button on his nose and back. Imagine her EXTREME excitement when she got a package from my Aunt Gerry the next day...and there was a PINK zhu zhu pet inside!! (Video to come soon....) She hasnt put that pink zhu zhu down.
How old does Kyle look here!? He was FOUR when I met Eric....he looks like a MAN here! :( STOP. GROWING!
And Dean, Dean, Dean. :) This is sooooo Dean :) Love him!
Corbyn and Callie casually sat down next to each other at the edge of the pool. You should have seen the rush of excitement and the grabbing of cameras and iphones to capture this adorable cousin moment! Priceless!
I think they are laughing at us and rolling their little eyes..."Ha...these guys have NO IDEA how much CUTE we will bring in the coming years. This is just the beginning, folks. Carry on."
While Daddy was changing into a bathing suit, Uncle Joe was awesome enough to bring Whitney in the pool for a dip. She looooves her Uncle Joe!
And of course there were some opportunities to let the toddler slide into the pool:
These two had SO much fun! I looooove and appreciate that Whitney is getting to grow up with such awesome family clsoe-by. Even though we dont all see each other EVERY single weekend, it always seems to fall back into place and we all seem to genuinely enjoy being around one another. A huge thank you to Aunt Carol and Uncle Joe for continually opening their home for us to gather!
And it wouldnt be a fun pool day without some nephew-tossing :)
A lot of people have been asking what Whitney wants for her birthday. My response is always the same: "If it has a princess ON IT, or if a princess would WEAR IT, then Whitney will LOVE it." She wears her "gwass swippers" EVERYWHERE (around the house) now. It may have taken us 10 minutes to get to and from the mailbox, but goshdarnit, she was GOING to wear those glass slippers the WHOLE way!
I was running around the house trying to get things together for her party and Whitney was following me. Suddenly I noticed that my shadow wasnt right on my heels anymore, so I called her name. This is where she was when I followed her voice.....
Just relaxing and happily putting on ALLLL of my bracelets, one-by-one. :) And why not!?
We had a fun playdate at the Magic Kingdom last week! Our next door neighbor had a friend visiting from Texas, so we took the opportunity to bring the kids to Disney on such a beautiful day!
Summer with her friend, Anna, and Summer's twins Cortland (left) and Conrad. All the kids were really well behaved and willing to go on any rides! We couldnt have asked for a better day even though the park crowds were estimated super high!
Whitney is loving the carousel, the tea cups, and Dumbo every time we hit the parks :) I love that she yells very specific things on each ride. The carousel is: "Yeeee HAAAW!" Dumbo is: "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!" the whole time. And now, the tea cups (which she asks for the second we tell her we MIGHT be going to Disney) is: "I so 'cited!!!" (excited!) over and over and over...and over!
We only waited a few minutes to ride the tea cups. I would seriously wait 2 hours just to see her smile when the ride starts. She LOOOVES this ride, and even likes going fast!
She likes to look to the top of the tea pot and wait for the mouse to pop out!
Priceless:
And of course, Sleeping Beauty crashed before we were even out of the parking lot :) I love that we can go to Disney World and leave in time to beat the rush hour traffic :)
When we got home, Whitney was keeping herself busy while I cooked dinner. First, she was happy to discover all of her old sippy cups on the bottom of a pantry....(note the hot pink "glass slippers" amongst the cups.)
And I heard her talking in her room and then she RAN into the playroom, returning moments later with her baby, Emma. She had found her hairbrush in her drawer and couldnt wait to brush Emma's hair :)
...until she was sidetracked by the basket of sunglasses she discovered in the same drawer :) She VERY proudly ran into the kitchen saying, "Wookameee, Mommy! Wook! I did it!!"
Sooo cute. I didnt have the heart to tell her they were upside down :)
I am uploading pics for a post for tomorrow since we'll be at Whitney's 2nd birthday party most of the day! She is VERY 'cited and ready to celebrate her BIG day with so many of her closest friends and family!
Devin: I know you just said "see ya later" to Nick...again...so I hope the pics help make you smile! Im so grateful he isnt heading back into a true danger zone, but I know how much your heart breaks when he leaves. HUGS!! Love you guys! xoxo
