Whitney is 6 Months Old!

Half a YEAR!? NOoooo...already!? :(

Stats:
Weight: (estimating) 20 lbs
Height: (estimating) 26 in
Diaper Size: 3 (but 2/3's fit, too)
Clothes size: some 3 month onesies still, mostly 6, 9, and even 12 month clothes, depending on the brand. (same as last month)

Our Daily Schedule:
Whitney is becoming even more and more routine in her ways. I love it! She is still waking between 7am and 7:45am. She amazes me every morning, waking up SOO happy and cheerful! She talks in her crib for a few minutes and then LIGHTS UP when I walk in the room to get her. It is one of my favorite parts of the day :) (And anyone who knows me, knows how much I LOOOVE to sleep in...so making me smile at 7am is not an easy task!) Whitney has a bottle at 8am, then she watches her "Your Baby Can Re*ad" DVD (still on disk 1 but she LOOOOVES it and bounces when the music starts to play!) After her video, she usually jumps in her jumperoo or plays with toys on the floor with me :) She has her first nap around 10am and sleeps til 12pm. Then she gets up (happy again!) and has another 6oz bottle. We play or run errands or read books until about 3pm when she has her second nap. I let her sleep for an hour and then she has a bottle at 4pm. We play some more, go visit her Mac and Gramps, take a walk, or just hang out at home until 7pm when its bath time. She LOOOOVES her bath time! She would stay in there all night if we'd let her! She is so much fun to watch in the tub. She plays with the toys and splashes the water. SO fun! Then we do her lotion and PJs at 7:30pm, read books (her favorites are "Teddy Bear's Bedtime" and "Little Miss Spider"..she kicks and laughs as we turn the pages!), and then she has her last bottle at 8pm. Her routine makes life sooo easy! (Of course, now that I called it a "routine", she will fall completely off "schedule" and start from scratch...)

Activity:
Whitney is officially a rocker! She gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth, back and forth, staring down toys that are just out of reach :) She hasnt technically crawled yet, and we're really in no rush, but she is definitely more mobile than ever! She rolls and inch-worms her way allll over the place! One minute she will be playing nicely on the floor in front of me, and the next she has rolled into the kitchen following Bailey! Whitney loves to hold our hands and stand, but her FAVORITE thing to do is hold hands and JUMP as fast as she can over and over and over. She thinks she's in her jumperoo ALLLL day! :) Its a great arm workout and so funny to hear her laugh as she jumps :)

Sleeping/Napping:
NO MORE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BOTTLES!! I am having mixed emotions about Whitney cutting out her middle-of-the-night feeding, but I know she is getting better rest at night, so I am okay with the fact that we dont get to cuddle at that time anymore. The 7 or 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep I am getting are pretty nice, too :) There are 1 or 2 binky retreivals a night, but thanks to a lil chat with Mandy, I figured out that Whitney's 2nd nap was too long and her last bottle was too small. Whitney has always gone to bed easily, without any fuss. But she wouldnt STAY asleep for more than 4 or 5 hours, 6 on occasion. Now, she has her last bottle at 8pm and doesnt get up again until 7-7:30am. Her morning nap is 2 hours and her afternoon nap is 1 hour. Thankfully, Whitney can sleep ANYWHERE, so we arent chained to the house at nap time. :)

Eating:
Whitney was still eating baby food at the beginning of the month, but I stopped it completely last week when I was trying to figure out her sleep/eating pattern. Now she is getting a 6oz bottle at 8am, 12pm, 4pm and then an 8oz warm bottle with cereal at 8pm. She is "supposed" to get 28-40oz of formula a day, but its a struggle to get 6oz in her consistantly, so we'll get there eventually. Once she's up to eating 8oz bottles, we'll introduce foods again. I hate to mess with her food so much, but I know that the stuff she NEEDS is coming from the formula...so the yummy foods can wait another week or two. :)

Personality:
Whitney continues to be a happy, EASY, smiley baby with a pretty laid back personality. :) She gets compliments EVERYWHERE we go :) Not only is she cute as can be, but she is pleasant to be around and rarely gets upset. We have noticed lately that when other babies are around, she seems to take in the whole situation before deciding if she's cool with it. Inevitably, she decides other babies are fun, but its funny to watch her look to us like "you guys are okay with this??...ok, then I am too. :)" It is easy to make Whitney smile, and sooooo fun to hear her laugh! She still thinks Bailey walks on water and follows his every move! Whitney loves when we make animal sounds and laughs especially hard at "The cow says 'moooooo'" and "The duck says 'quack, quack'" and "The frog says 'ribbit, ribbit'" :) We laugh every time she lights up and giggles at those! Whitney has done really well at church lately, sitting through the whole service without fussing or squealing or making a peep. I keep saying I am going to put her int he nursery there, but never do. This week's excuse was "what if she gets the flu there?!" Eventually, she'll get to play with the other babies there, and I am SURE she will love it :) Whitney waves "hi" to us, but its not consistant enough to say "she waves". It happens occasionally, and its the cutest. thing. ever. When she does it more consistantly, I will try to get it on video :) In the last 2 or 3 days, Whitney has started really babbling more. We've heard a few consonants in the mix, but nothing we can call a "mama" or a "dada" yet. :) (But I sure am pushing for that "mama"!!!)

Pictures:
Proof of her cuteness :)
