Pictures SOON!

The nursery is ALMOST done!
The paint is 99% complete.
Her window treatment is done after some laughs and a good time with Mom (we made it ourselves, with the amazing gift/donation of an un-used crib skirt from Whitney's Aunt Melissa! THANK YOU!!)
Her newborn and 0-3 month clothes are washed/drying. (The poor girl has NOT ONE newborn sleeper, so that is on tomorrow's "To Do" list. :))
Her bottles and binkies are sterlized (12 different ways since I wasnt sure which way I liked best!...dishwasher? handwash? Dr. Brown's Sterilizer? microwave sterilizer bags? etc etc).
Her/my diaper bag is packed (her homecoming outfits are A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E...i cant pick just one...I will likely need a bigger diaper bag, but we'll see...any recommendations? What do/did you put in your diaper bag? What did you use most often? What did you rarely use? I feel like I have too much sometimes...but other times I think I dont have "enough"....thoughts?).
Video camera is charging.

And we are about to put all the furniture back into place....so stay tuned for pictures!! :)

AWWW, I am so frickin excited for you Kat!!! I can't wait and see pictures of Whitney. On the diaper bag I just put her going home outfit, onesies, and socks. The hospital usually has wipes and diapers. Take her pacifier too. And I am probably forgetting a lot but I am so excited for you.

In my diaper bag I have 2 changes of clothes and a receiving blanket and bib in one pocket, in the middle I have a container of wipes, a zipper pouch of ointments, a couple toys and such, about 8 diapers, a plastic bag for the yucky diapers and a container of formula. In the other side pocket I have mylicon drops, prune juice, a dr. brown bottle, and a bottle to heat the formula up in. I FOUND A GREAT LARGE BAG! Good luck and God Bless...SO EXCITING! See you later sleep....

I totally love my Petunia Picklebottom diaper bag. We still use it now when we go on trips. They make a big version (like mine) and a smaller "boxy backpack" version. No real advice on the "what to put in it" - At first I had everything in it (bottles of purified water, formula cans, bibs, toys, blankets, diapers, spare clothes, etc.). As she got older the diaper bag evolved. . but I think it varies based on the kid :)
Can't wait to see pictures of what you, Eric, and your mom completed.

Let's see... for the diaper bag: diapers and wipes (I used a travel wipes container), a spare outfit (in a big ziploc bag), camera, changing pad and maybe some sunscreen. When she gets older put in a couple of toys she likes. I also made sure I had a receiving blanket and some booties in case it got cold, that probably won't apply to you.

I know some things I had in the bag that never got used were a thermometer, medicine (tylenol and gas drops) and diaper cream. You can always put these in if you know she's sick or has a rash.

Also you can make an "emergency" kit for the car with some extra clothes and more diapers and wipes, that way you don't have to overload the bag.

I have no idea when it comes to bottles/formula/pacifiers, so hopefully somebody else can help you out there.

2 more days! Do you get to bring her home Tuesday, or does she have to spend the night in the hospital?

Diaper bag must haves:
Diapers (duh!)
Wipes
Extra clothes (her and you)
Pacifiers
Extra bottles
Extra Formula (you never know when you'll get stuck somewhere)
Emergency contact list (in case you leaver her with a sitter. I keep mine in the bag, that way I don't ever have to worry about forgetting it)
Soft toys
Burp rags or receiving blankets
Mylicon
Diaper rash cream
Changing pad
Hand sanitizer

I tend to over pack, but for me, these things were a MUST when Adelae was an infant.

Sounds like tons of fun at your house! I had/have a Skip Hop Dash diaper bag for my "long outing" bag
http://skiphop.com/product/22000.html
and a small Lands End bag for short outings. The Lands End bag always has and continues to get the most use. We originally got it for Dh's bag, but I love it too!

As far as what to keep in it: diapers and diaper essentials obviously, burp cloths, a change of clothes or two for her, often I'd throw a spare shirt for myself in there too just in case of spit up all over me. As he got older I added more first aid type stuff (band aids, neosporin, Motrin, etc.). You'll need bottles, formula, spare pacifiers if you plan to use those, a couple little toys, etc. Glad you're having so much fun getting ready for Whitney's arrival. Can't wait! Looking forward to seeing pictures.

I'm so excited for you Kat. I always used a regular diaper bag...Graco style. Stocked it with diapers, wipes in travel wipe case, extra bottles, travel formula, binkie, extra onesies, blanket...etc.

Can't wait to see it...

My opinion on the diaper bag is more is best! lol I always have a couple changes of clothes, diaper wipes of course. We have the little formula dispenser that has three sections (real cheap at wal mart)always keep that in there and full...a bottle of water, and bottle, blankie, burp rag, extra socks (never know when they are gonna kick one off!!) tylenol, gas drops, oragel, binky, and when they get older bib, extra snacks, food etc...I am all for being PREPARED! lol And I have a rather large bag, always have and always wanted bigger! lol But them minute I went somewhere with less...well I needed what I didn't have! :) I can't wait for you to get your little girl!!!! :)

LOVE the idea of keeping the extra clothes in a large ziploc! I don't know how many times a bottle has leaked or something in there...one time karson opened the formula and spilled it all over...I am gonna start doing that!

You may never use the tylenol, thermometer etc, but you never know when they are gonna get sick etc...

It is perfect! I can't wait to see a picture of Princess Whitney IN her room!!! Oh and I have to second the spare clothes for you...like make sure you have a full wardrobe. You have no idea how far & much they can spit up until it's all over your pants.
