When celebrating with another adoptive parent the day their child went home with them, I of course relive the day my husband and I drove away from a hospital with our 38-hour-old daughter strapped in her carseat in our car. What a wonderful day!

Ok, Kathleen... I just died a little bit. She is incredible. Her cheeks are so beautiful and you and Eric look so happy. I've been breaking my own rule and checking FB all day to see what the progress is... I'm so so so so so thrilled for you. LOOK AT THE HAIR!!!!!!!

Oh Kat she is BEAUTIFUL I started to cry looking at the pic of Eric holding her and you kissing her on her head, it is so wonderful to be able to see a pic of you, Eric and your daughter together. I am so happy that everything has worked out for you and that you finally have your baby Bass. And THANK YOU for allowing me to follow you in this journey, I hope that you continue to let me follow in your journey as Whitney Faith grows up. Congrats again!!!
Congratulations!!! What joy you must have in your heart. I was a foster mom for 2 1/2 years and adopted 4 siblings in March. And I know the excitement you are feeling. I have learned so much along the way. I learned so much from a carseat training..things that I never knew. Can I please offer you some advice??? I noticed the extra padded seat belt covers on your babies carseat. I learned at the carseat training that the plastic clip that connects the two straps that go over the baby or childs shoulders is suppose to be at the level of their arm pits. This keeps the baby or child from coming out of the straps if their is ever impact. At this point I just wanted to pass this along and would encourage you to look at the manufactures recommendation of your carseat and FYI some fire stations offer carseat trainings and carseat checks.

My best Mommy advice... journal everything! (I have an open and ongoing word doc for each of my children... I write all kinds of stuff in... you say that you will never forget the way you feel right now... and every detail... but then more amazing stuff happens... and it's hard to remember it all... I am so, so proud of my journals for each child and love reading them... they take me back to the best days ever with my kids!)
